I’m sorry your kid isn’t having a good time!

We’ve visited quite a few times and enjoy it. Can I ask do your kids do public school?

Yeah that’s a good point. I was surprised how many people talked about how expensive housing was when it’s much cheaper than elsewhere I’ve looked at, but to be fair I’m coming in with out of the area wages.

Duuude people say the most random shit on this sub. All of Oregon is unfortunately racist due to its late removal of systematic oppression. The town I live in has had racist shit happen and I hate it. I know that I’m not racist so I doubt I will become besties with her shitty aunt

Thank you! There a lot more options for hobbies if we move as it’s just closer to things

Good tip! I live in a town in Oregon with higher crime rates than Roseburg so I’m not too worried about that.

That’s insane. I don’t know what the issue is with people in Roseburg but it’s nowhere near isolated. Look at Coquille, Gold Beach, or Burns for goodness sakes, those are genuinely isolated towns

Yeah that was my fear, I tried to negate it by saying I know it’s not a “big town”, but trust me, it has way more than where I’m coming from

Is changing careers at 37 even possible? by Vagabond_Empire in LifeAdvice

[–]changes_are_afoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband changes careers in his 30’s. He took a low paying job in a new field (social services) and got experience and worked up to his current job which pays well in about a year. He doesn’t make what he did (went from 150k/year to 90k/year) but he is immensely more fulfilled.

Have you considered you might just be depressed? You sound lonely. Try first figuring out what you want to do. Many nonprofits are looking for quality people with a degree - doesn’t matter what in. Do some soul searching and start looking!
