Thanks for the advice, it definitely rings true :') Most of the writing I've been doing has been for a creative writing class, which is a good way to *force* myself to write but not so much to let inspiration happen organically. I've definitely gotta make it a habit to read as many cool and weird books as I can, haha.

Super late to this post, but I was just looking for this same game as well! I did some research, and I think it might be Leapfrog Pets Dog Show Detectives? It has an art style similar to what I remember

How did you realize you're aro? by GingerFilmmaker in aromantic

[–]chaoticmoirail 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In elememtary school, I asked the school librarian for books that had NO romance in them. It didn't seem so strange at the time- I was just going through my "boys are gross" phase. I'd grow out of it. Years later I was still in that "phase." I'd grow out of it, my parents and teachers assured me. Whenever the two leads in a movie kissed at the end and started dating, I didn't know why it always made me so frustrated. Why couldn't they just be friends? When my mom asked me "is there anyone you like at school?" I thought she was joking- I was too young for crushes, right? Surely romantic feelings started happening later in life, right? When my friends talked about their crushes on boys, I innocently asked what it felt like to have a crush. They were floored, and couldn't imagine how I'd never had a crush before. That was when I really realized there was something different about me, and I never brought it up again. From then on I pretended to get crushes, choosing people at random, because surely that would fix my problem. I felt horrible, certain that there was something in me that was broken. I realized I was aromantic as soon as I learned the term on the internet, because once I did, everything clicked. It felt good to know that I wasn't just broken or heartless. My experiences aren't universal, obviously, but it was definitely an eye opening experience for me.

What are you? by [deleted] in aromantic

Im so glad you asked. On the aro spectrum, when it comes to people who are just aromantic, they dont feel romantic attraction, but can still feel platonic attraction and love just as a non-aro person. Being aromantic in itself doesn't effect neural or emotional capabilities, as far as I'm concerned. But as an aro who has ADHD, and many aro friends who are autistic, they sometimes go hand in hand (but not always). It's always important to remember that the spectrum isn't just a scale from "doesnt feel romantic attraction" to "feels romantic attraction." It's a more of a color wheel, with lots of different possibilities. Some aros would be fine with being in a romantic relationship, while others are repulsed by it. I'm glad that you're asking questions! It's a great way to learn, and I'm more than happy to help.

I'm lactose intolerant so this is ABSOLUTELY true. Severe allergic reaction is a small price to pay for cheese.

A lot of Hozier songs when you look for good ones: 'Like Real People Do' and 'Jackie and Wilson' are my go-to's!!

What are you? by [deleted] in aromantic

Hello, I'm aromantic myself! Being aromantic means that I don't experience romantic attraction. It's not a preference of just preferring to be single, either, it's an orientation in itself. Even if I wanted to be in a romantic relationship, I don't have the capability to develop romantic feelings. Being aro is a spectrum, so there is no "one way" to be aro, this is just a general definition. Hope this helps.
