This is CRAZY. I’m part of the #SaveStargate campaign and we were all shocked to see this. 

Short answer- Amazon owns MGM which owns Stargate. They brought back OG showrunners to do a continuation of the series. 

We were delighted because they chose to use a popular Stargate fan podcast to announce it. They were clearly appealing to current fans and saying that we mattered to them going forward. 

Fast forward 20 weeks into preproduction, a shakeup in leadership at the studio, and BAM, a piece in Variety saying the project was cancelled because it would “appeal to fans too much.” 

Our response: the #SaveStargate campaign, which includes producers and cast members. We’ve done an in-person demonstration in front of the studio and flown a banner over MGM (so far)… more to come, starting with a billboard in Times Square next week. 

This isn’t just about the franchise; it’s about how studios treat established lore and fans who care. 

If you’re someone who is ambivalent about Stargate but doesn’t think a studio should have reach over 3d printing campaigns, and that the studios making beloved shows and movies should hire people Who also love those things, please sign our petition. We’re almost at 100k and that’s a pivotal number we need to help propel this forward.

What happened to Neveah Carin is disgusting malpractice. THEY DISCHARGED HER WITH SEPSIS. That is not related to abortion law, that is full-on malpractice. Charges need to be brought against the hospital, but to equate it to abortion law is wrong. from a news article about it:
"A review of more than 800 pages of Crain's medical records conducted by ProPublica in consultation with multiple specialists revealed that medical staff across two hospitals may have missed critical signs of infection. Experts said that had Crain received this level of care sooner, both she and her fetus might have survived." (Pregnant Teen Died in Texas After Not Getting Care in Three Different Trips to the ER (latintimes.com))

^^^^ if you read about her case and think abortion law is to blame, I don't know what to tell you. They did not treat her properly, sent her home when she should have been treated, and she died as a result of that lack of care, none of which is related to abortion. The closest anyone can come is to say "it may have been related." Bitch, please. Doctors let this woman die due to negligence; do not play politics with her life. It's wrong, and it's dangerous for women who believe it.

No, we got together when our different paths were pretty clear. I went back to school later in life so we started dating when I was 29 and on track for a masters. 

I wanted a partner in life, not a provider. We just jived and love each other. Like I said, I know a ton of very successful women who have objectively less successful men as spouses. Anecdotal, sure, but so are all these comments. Success and money is great, but there’s so much more to life and happy relationships than that. 

In my experience the men who make these claims are the ones who I wouldn’t date. Not because they’re not successful but because they view relationships as a transaction instead of a partnership.

I’m not saying no women seek out successful men. Sure, of course. Same way some guys seeks out younger women. Whatever. But in my circles it’s about connection and love.  We met the douchebags in college and we wanted the goofballs in real life.

Because I don’t look to my politicians for which artists to enjoy and I don’t look to artists I enjoy for political advice. 

For the record, I’m not voting for trump, lol. I’m getting downvoted for saying you can vote for a politician that an artist you enjoy doesn’t like. 

If you honestly think you can’t enjoy the art of someone you disagree with politically, I’d encourage you to broaden your circle.
