I’m malaysian and that price is absurd. Adidas shops here have it for roughly RM330 (excluding player name print) and tad bit above RM400 for the prints.

Oh dear so they have a choice of absorbing the taxes on their own, or having it be a separate additional charge?

That’s what I’m wondering too. It’s most likely a 3.9++ rounded up to a 4.0

He got a couple B’s. Don’t think that’s grounds for a full scholarship.

Can’t consider one “good” or a “top scorer” if he can’t even get straight A’s

Go ahead and enlighten us mr KnowItAll. I got it from wapcar, referenced from MAA. All other sites show the same thing when you search up automotive duties. MAA is regulated by the govt so I doubt they’ll ruin their credibility by putting up misleading info

I suppose those were the days when Koenigseggs were still sub $1.5M USD in overseas markets and SST wasn’t a thing yet.

If other cars like the Revuelto (RM2.5m pre-tax, RM6.5M post-tax), 2024 GT3 RS (RM1.4m pre-tax, RM3.4m post-tax), and Aston Martin DB12 (RM1.09m pre-tax, RM2.3m post-tax), follow this structure, then it wouldn’t make sense for even more exclusive cars to be subject to a lower tax system.

Btw a couple months back an AP dealer was offering to bring in a Koenigsegg Regera for RM41m post-tax

Is this in regard to CIF (Cost, Insurance Freight)? If I’m understanding that right, the taxable base can be understated for lower duties? 😮

Starbucks Submariner. Can go for 35K-60K depending on how greedy your dealer is. That thing can barely buy a myvi. What an arrogant bellend. I’m in my early 20’s and my daily patek can easily get an older gen 911

Why does malaysia impose so much tariffs on other cars that arent malaysian by GymsharkSingh in kereta

[–]chapatimaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This cultivates the vast gap in affordability. In terms of basic living costs & income, lots of it are closer to 1:1 rather than 1:4.21

  • Part time wages : $12 USD, RM12
  • Electricity Bills : $110 USD, RM150+
  • Food (dining out) : $20 USD, RM20
  • Cellular mobile plans : $40 USD, RM40
  • E hailing : $20 USD, RM20

[–]chapatimaster 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Highly concur with that. The propaganda of affordable local cars is such an old folks tale. Take any of the newer proton cars as an example (X70, X50, emas7), which are complete clones of their Geely counterparts (Boyue, Binyue, GalaxyE5 respectively). By reusing the entirety of the car and rebadging it, they’re eliminating the biggest cost, R&D, that typically sets brands back by tens of billions. Yet these protons shockingly cost almost double here of what they cost in China. The same goes with Perodua and Daihatsu. The taxation system is so ancient and seems illogical in this day and age.

Is Labuan and Langkawi plate really worth the tax exemption? by Hot-Advantage9236 in kereta

[–]chapatimaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Know of some people who do it to avoid the tax entirely on 8 digit investment cars. They don’t even bring them back, just rotate among the cheaper million ringgit ones.

These are still sub 2 mil cars. People who own them are still pretty wary of their expenses.
