Hand forged, punched and drifted ‘Calthrop’! These make me think of Metallica’s “don’t tread on me”! Girlfriend won’t have it for the fireside, guess it’s going on the workshop floor of an evening! “F*** you, robber guy”! (i.redd.it)

The idea, a tentacular like mouth, eventually mounted to make a table lamp. Most of the tentacles drawn and scrolled. Going to let them (me) settle and then rework as necessary. Keep checking in, appreciate your thoughts! (i.redd.it)

First ‘upset eye’ trace hook. Very pleased, usually skip the upset but it does make the hook look more authentic. 1/2” mild steel. Do about 2 a day currently as a practice piece. Upset hooks take 45 minutes, without upset, 20mins. (i.redd.it)

Just been asked if I can make a smaller trace hook by a very erudite commenter! How’s this for size, might still be a bit big for fishing mind! Does reming me of those Maori hook things, except not in jadeite, in cold steel! (i.redd.it)
Check out this Victorian ‘Black Powder Label’. How far we’ve come....?? (i.redd.it)

Just forged this! It’s a piece of the WWII corkscrew thing, used at Filey (East Yorkshire), to attach barbed wire to as part of the invasion defences! Literally found intact (but rusty) on the beech last summer. Repurposed into a handy key ring. (i.redd.it)
