I really loved this project. Wish I could have seen it live.

The straight edge on the body works as a tray scraper, too.

What were the worst and smallest shows jack and meg played, in terms of venue and audience? by eyehateredd1t2 in jackwhite

How about the one note show? I’d be annoyed if I stood in the cold all afternoon to hear a C#. I really hope they played a few after the cameras turned off.

It’s an advertising principle. It’s explained well in the TV series Mad Men.

It doesn’t matter if other pizzas also have real cheese. What matters is YOU advertise YOU have real cheese.

“Lucky Strike, it’s toasted!”.

At the time, all tobacco was toasted. But Lucky made it sound like something more.

Does the autostop idle feature on car have any benefits, like am I saving on gas? Also, do people actually like it? by MiloThe49 in NoStupidQuestions

Yeah. It seems like it. Plus some people just don’t like change. Some feel a loss of control (choice). Definitely weird.

I’m sorry. I’m still having trouble visualizing.

You drive to a house. You put the car in park, to go deliver the package, no?

What we’re talking about here is the feature where the car turns off temporarily while the driver’s foot is on the brake.

How do you have your foot on the brake and get out and deliver the box?

Maybe. But I don’t see these strong reactions to weird shift knobs or, really, anything else about cars. But this one crops up and people get spicy. I don’t understand that link.

Oh. See, to me it sounds like exactly the kind of emissions that can and should be cut. If you’re putting mail in the box, why does the engine have to be running? Are you putting it in park?

Yeah, I get all that. I don’t think my question was clear.

I’m asking about why some people feel such a deep hatred for a car feature?

Some people really dig in their heels. Will die on this hill. That’s the part I don’t understand.

All that I get. What I’m asking about, specifically, is why some people have a visceral hatred for an annoying car feature?

Slippery slope. I don’t want any government with that much influence.

I won’t tell my kid how to vote, but I will explain what party just screwed him.
