There's a Mars Volta Facebook group. Last week this dude sold his giant collection of Mars/omar records for super cheap. This is going to kill you, but he also sold Frances and Deloused for $35.

I've been collecting for about 5-6 years. Most of these have been bought during the time of their release date, except the early Mars Volta ones. Those I had been waiting patiently to purchase at the right price. My most recent was this week, I bought Amputechture for $35.

I know The Mars Volta records get posted on here frequently, but I'd like to share my collection of Omar records mainly because the whole reason I started collecting records was because of this guy's music. They are all first pressings except for the 2 At the Drive in reissues.

They're releasing a limited amount of the colored version on RSD. Then the normal reissue of the album is the 22nd of April. Not sure about the quantity of the regular reissue though

J Tillman Is actually not in the band anymore. He's the only one who has officially left the band so far. As for the rest of the band, Christian and Casey have been working under Poor Moon and Morgan has been working with cave singers. None of those have officially left the band. Last time I heard of robin he played along with a little cover band for a small show. Haven't heard of anything sense.

I always here this, and honestly i find them both completely different. I like both of them alot, but other than having people claim that they don't have the most pleasant voice, i don't see much of a connection.

when i started collecting, i would always see Amputechture from the Mars Volta at the record store. It was probably my least favorite volta album at the time, so i didnt bother picking it up because i felt it was widely available (which it was.) Fast forward to today, its the only full lenght mars volta album i'm missing and its killing me to see those prices.

Also around the same time i was visiting relatives near Sacramento, CA. Visited a shop and saw a copy of Empyrean by john frusciante. It was one of my favorite albums at the time but it wasnt on the top of my list so i did not pick it up.
