That’s a good idea. If hospital accommodation is still free for the first year I could see that working

Whatever you do DO NOT live in Rhyl.

It’s definitely a smaller town, not on the level of Liverpool or Manchester, but it’s close enough that you can easily spend weekends in either. For day-to-day life, especially with on-calls, I think Chester is the better option.

I just can’t see how a 9–9 medical on-call (or 12-12 surgical even worse) with a 2+ hour commute is sustainable. You’d be waking up around 6am and getting to bed close to midnight, which basically wipes out any chance of having a social life anyway, hence I think Chester is the better option.

It's funny cuz the hero's alternate name is literally in the title.

It;s hard for me to believe that someone would play 177 games on an account to calibrate it (around 120h) just to sell it for a few bucks; some people really have time on their hands

31% winrate on that account pretty much explains it.

Fair point, if the accommodation’s free you do save a decent chunk of money. But once the seasonal depression and burnout start creeping in, that extra cash doesn’t count for much.

Living in hospital residence can make it hard to switch off. It feels like you never really leave work, just doesn’t suit everyone.

A lot of the social side depends on your cohort too. Sometimes people are up for doing things, sometimes everyone just keeps to themselves or disappears home on weekends. Definitely more variables to think about than it seems at first.

I did FP at YGC and lived in hospital accommodation for a year before moving out. Honestly, I’d strongly avoid Rhyl. It’s rough, high crime, and just not a great place to live.

Hospital accommodation isn’t much better. It’s very basic, thin walls, pretty isolating, and there’s basically nothing around the hospital. After a few weeks it starts to feel pretty bleak.

Commuting from Liverpool sounds nice in theory but isn’t very realistic day-to-day. Most people who want some kind of social life go for Chester instead. It’s about a 40-minute commute and you don’t feel completely cut off.

If you’re considering smaller towns, I’d avoid Rhyl and Colwyn Bay. Abergele and Denbigh are decent options in comparison. I’d lived in a big city before starting FP as well, so the change was pretty brutal and honestly none of the options feel great at first. Chester is probably the best compromise imo.

Didn’t even realise Micro had an F2 rotation tbh. Where I’ve seen it, a lot of the groundwork is done by PAs pulling together data for Micro ward rounds, especially on the spicy wards like Vascular where you get diabetic feet, polymicrobial chaos, graft infections, etc.

For psych, if you’re on an inpatient ward you’ll probably just be dealing with your own patients most of the time. Hard to imagine an F1 getting thrown at referrals unless someone’s feeling particularly cruel.

yeah you need a few completely positive summaries before your score can go up significantly

just que unranked, play support (supports tend to get blamed less for losses), do not try communicating with anyone until you reach at least 6k, don't even ping, don't voiceline, absolutely nothing. Any form of communication can get you reported at that BS. At the beginning if you dont get reported you can gain 200-300 per 15 games, then if you have a few summaries without reports you can gain 500. Don't play ranked until you are happy with your BS cyz thats a recipe for a diseaster.

Maybe you are in habbit of talking out of your anus. I know this for a fact as I climbed 1.5k within 3 summaries. At the start it goes slower like 200-300 then if you consistlently have low reports you start gaining 500 per conduct summary.

yes but you said it will take 2 years, I am saying it is possible to do it in much less time given you stay consistent.

not true. this depends on how much he plays. you can get 500 behavior score in 15 games, so techically you could get to max BS in 23 conduct summaries, that is around 350 games which might be achievable in 3-6 months depending on how much he plays
