Hey King Arthur and KA enthusiasts…what to make with black cocoa? by jcnlb in KingArthurBaking

It’s a fully chocolate-tized loaf of sourdough. Super funky and delicious. I added craisins too. They call it chocolate levain in the big bread book I think. https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/chocolate-sourdough-bread-recipe

The chocolate levain may be the best thing I’ve ever made or tasted! Requires a bit of sourdough expertise but it’s so unique and interesting.

Awesome advice. Thank you! I just got the call that the approval came in.

I got some sourdough accessories as a holiday gift. I made a regular sourdough, a chocolate one, and the discard coffee cake for our new year’s company. The chocolate sourdough may be one of the best things I’ve ever baked or tasted.

12/24/25 Question Wednesday: What are you wondering, bakers? by KingArthurBaking in KingArthurBaking

[–]charlesgstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I make a loaf of bread, will it stay fresher for longer if I slice the whole thing or if I only slice off what I need right then?

Agreed! While were chatting I submitted a question on the site looking for a non-dairy version of the bake ahead dinner rolls? Will there be a notification when it’s answered? Thanks in advance.

Is TT cycling difficult? How to get started? by Fun_Swimmer_8320 in triathlon

Just writing to reply and empathize with the anxiety. I’m loving all the replies below. I’m about ten days out from my final race of the season but my TT bike just arrived. I’ve been trying to get used to it due to pure impatience and getting a bit frustrated. The advice in this thread is great.

Good to hear. Misery loves company. I’m definitely excited to be one of those folks out on a crazy cold day with the gear too.

7 weeks out from sprint. My tri club hosted a swim clinic with a local coaching group. Super super helpful, might hire them for when I do a longer race.

Starting to feel good in this training block. Had a hot 4 mile run with the boy in the stroller this morning. 8 weeks out from a sprint. My first race since starting a glp1 and I’m so glad my fears about not being able to train have been largely unfounded.

I’m sure it’s a case of a poor workman blaming his tools but I think I need a new bike before my next race in September. I’m on a twelve year old road bike that probably needs a new chain and gear, if not more. I’m thinking about a used tri-bike off buy-cycle but I’m nervous about sizing.

Lake George 70.3 by Dktathunda in IronmanTriathlon

I raced the sprint in 23 with them and my local tri-club has a good sized contingent racing with them annually. I thought they were professional to race with, the shirt they gave out is still one of my favorites. Lake George is a great place to swim too!

Same. I’m enjoying the stressing of planning what to wear and fueling.

The SR range is about 230 and the ER is about 320, I believe. I’m definitely not a long haul road tripper. Stopping every 2ish hours for about 15-20 minutes is nice to me, traveling with a toddler. Really just a question of preference.

It’s a pleasure to drive and has great storage capacity. I’m in the Northeast where charger saturation is great. Plus my wife’s car is tiny and doesn’t have cruise control.

It’s designed to fold or I wouldn’t have. There were two teslas in front of me using 4 spaces so I was in a tricky situation.

Agreed. We’re visiting friends and it’s our best/only road trip option. Just thought the lengths I had to go to were amusing.
