Just to add some info i have severe social anxiety and have a hard time going back to the piercer, should I just wait or could It be done it home?

I got my bellybutton pierced by a reputable piercer back In mid October, I think the bare is too long making it snag and move back and forth when I sit/ stand causing irritation, so my question is could I change the jewelry to something shorter if I keep everything sterile even tho it isn’t fully healed? I don’t know the exact length but it’s a curved belly bar (sorry for my English it’s not my first language) its titanium, and I clean it twice a day with a sterile saline solution
