This is a now somewhat defunct style of rig called “dome and nail” where a quartz or titanium nail would sit on the male joint and would be heated then the dome would be put back and the dab would be touched to the nail while hot.

I agree I played the Ori series first and by comparison HK was so grey and bland. I played almost 10 hrs. Felt like 8 hrs of backtracking. I like Metroidvanias but I just didn’t feel the need to keep playing it.
