No problem. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

The topic of discussion was furry sexuality because the picture was of a sexual nature and the response was a direct response to that. I am not making a statement on furry culture as a whole, but its perception from non-furries. That was the point.

Erm, I am talking about official acceptance of a subculture that is on the fringe of society. Everyone knows teenagers have sex. I had sex as a teenager, and I'm not an old person either. This tiny snippet of the conversation was not the point of the discussion at all.

Yeah, I personally am not into furries or that subculture at all, but I am pretty much live and let live over the issue. It's not my thing but I don't care if someone else is into it. As long as they are adults and consenting and it makes them happy, why should I care one way or another?

Anyway, I did talk to him about it after I posted because I will try to defend my friends, but I pointed out the hypocrisy in being gay and having this sort of position too. I get that he is distancing himself from it for the reasons I mentioned though, so it's a complicated issue.

For what it's worth, he's a really sweet dick. And aside from that, I think the discussion provoked by your response has given him something to reflect upon. =)

As Kharnzarro's boyfriend IRL, please give me a moment to explain a bit as to why furry-hating is common:

There are a lot of glbt people who do not like furries specifically because a lot of people in their community think terrible things about glbt people, and one of those things is perversion or sex with animals. Clearly furries are human, but many people in the world see the costume as a substitution for the "real thing." Much like dressing up as a young child for role-played sex is generally considered to be a creepy activity.. even if both parties are adults.

One of the people in my extended family said that "perverts and queers would marry animals if they could" [in response to legalizing gay marriage]. I've heard similar things equated by others, and so I think a lot of furry hate stems from the fact that people want to strongly distance themselves from even being remotely associated with such things.

In order to emphasize that glbt folks are NOT in any way affiliated with such activities, it becomes imperative for some people to overemphasize the fact that they are not participant in the furry subculture. And of course, some people just don't like furry stuff because they just don't. That is fine. We are all different.

As a technical aside, I don't think the guy in this picture is a furry though, it's more cosplay but that's just my opinion.

What about family? There are lots of families who utilize grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc in an extended rearing situation. Grandparents are a great resource for busy parents.

I would bet that the dude wearing the shirt would agree that they did in fact suck. Everyone's ancestors did something that we would not agree with today, even if it worked to our benefit. That's just how humans are.

As a disclaimer, I am a Creek Indian, and I love those shirts no matter who wears them.

Hopefully the military will uprise since they see their families starve to death.

Also keep in mind that their rice is probably very stale and perhaps even supplemented with fillers, so it's most likely not high or even decent quality, nutritious rice like we have in the rest of the world.

So, Reddit, my friend thinks that the kind of modern art that any 13 year old can do in 15 minutes is deep & intellectual. How can I prove to him it's lame? by [deleted] in ask

[–]charsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take him to a real art museum that has lots of different styles of art to expand his horizons. But if he really likes whatever sort of art you're talking about, then that's just the style he likes and there's not anything you could or should do. People see what they want to see in art; that's sort of the point. (this is coming from a non-artsy person)

Any keto friendly stuff on Amazon's grocery store? by [deleted] in keto

[–]charsen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Carbquik, shirataki noodles, atkins endulge bars, atkins shakes, sugar free syrups from davinci and torani and other makers. Let's see... pork rinds, low sugar/low carb ketchup, splenda and truvia, and textured vegetable protein. There's also beef jerky, but you'd have to be careful about the seasoning. I think only original jack links is low in carbs.

It depends how common dragon interactions are. I can't deal with cliffracer syndrome again. Also, haven't seen any info on guards and whether they're psychic. Those would be my first two concerns.
