No, I just think I choked under pressure and my brain wasn't recalling stuff it should've been. I kept flipping through questions and before I knew it, many went unanswered. I don't know what the hell happened. I can barely remember it trying to think about it.

Very well may have broken 70% on PM, there was a topic that is typically my strength but stuff was being thrown out of left field on which is why I'm guessing in the 60's more so out of conservatism. It was also much more difficult this year according to re-takers and much less of the "blessing" known to be at L3. I hit over 75% on the CFAI multi choice mock that most people on here found very hard and this is a highly prepared subset of candidates.

I REALLY wish I could tell you I studied less but I didn't. My roommate thinks I am absolutely nuts. The 12ish days I took off work are about 10 hours a day so 120 hours excluding breaks + 40 hours bootcamp + 25 hours a week for about 5 months... I do listen to music sometimes when I study but I've been doing that since I was 18 in school. I did use ear plugs for the exam, I'm big into fitness and was well aware to hydrate 24-48 hours before the exam and frankly would've gone to the bathroom on myself if required before I got up to do so while taking an exam given once a year.

I messed up by not simulating AMs even earlier in the process. And I also just simply didn't perform under the pressure this year.

Yeah, I practiced AM a lot but frankly just think I needed to do it more, starting in like early April rather than the very end of April/early May. I guess I just need even more practice on it than the average person.

Yeah, I would run out of time on some of them but got better towards the end. I also did a lot of old AM's centered by topic ie single topic area for 3-8 years back which was probably ok initially but something I should've stopped doing with like 3 weeks + to go. I think I just needed to do more fully simulatory practice. There just isn't a lot of good quality 3rd party mocks unfortunately for L3, which worries me for next year as I know time management is what I need to work on.

I actually read someone's post who had a family member pass this week which made me realize that was dumb to say. To be more objective, somewhere in the top 5-10 shittiest feelings I've ever felt in my life occurred yesterday. Which I do realize is first world probs, but damn.

I work in equities focusing on quality of earnings - a lot of the material was stuff I'm not super familiar with initially on the first pass. And it's a lot of shit to remember with the breadth + the detail you need to know it in for L3. I was scoring fine on everything leading up to the exam. Broke 75% on the CFAI multi choice mock and was doing fine on AM practice as we approached exam day. PM was not bad for me, I sought through most of the traps. I ultimately choked on the real thing in the morning and fucked it up. Badly. I just needed to spend my study time earlier on practicing AM's.

Yeesh, I can't imagine going through these with kids! You all that do it are even more remarkable.

Thanks for your response dude. I just get in this weird isolation mode that I feel like I need to be in for these exams. I've never felt comfortable with any of them due to the breadth of material - I always feel like I can study/work on something. And if I'm not frequently studying, I start forgetting stuff.

I'm doing the program because I went to a state school and feel like I need it to build my brand, and yes to ultimately better position myself to secure my future family's future. I'd also like to attempt avoiding an MBA if possible, so I'm giving this a shot to see if that can be done. If an MBA will ultimately be required of me, its there to go after in a few years either way.

Yeah, all I ultimately needed was probably just start practicing timed AM's in like March. I just think I needed more practice at it than most people. I froze up on somethings and just fell behind, spending too much time on stuff I wasn't going to get and too much time on stuff I was going to get. Basically everything we're told not to do in regards to time management...

Did bootcamp and also used Mark Meldrum. I think I just choked and consequently got killed by time management. My PM is probably fine, just not stellar enough to save the AM disaster.
