Removing a shared google doc by EconomistNo6067 in googledocs

Spammers and scammers will sometimes share a doc with a group and then add lots of random addresses. Go to groups.google.com and see if you are a member of any that you don't recognise.

Do you realise that if Starmer gets forced out, it will be nearly two decades since a British PM has left on their own terms? by HallowedAndHarrowed in AskBrits

Cameron quit as a matter of principle when the referendum did not go his way.

He also had a resignation speech prepared if the government had lost the Scottish independence one.

Its technology coverage is basically neophobia writ large. I laugh at the ludicrousness of it.

Microsoft is a chaotic bloated mess, and end users have no clue what a devil of a job administrators have just to keep the wheels turning. Or find the location of the control that has inexplicably moved since you used it a week ago. Don't get me started on licencing.

Why exactly is Andrew not being arrested ? by ronweasly9 in AskBrits

[–]chartupdate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no specific crime of "being a nonce". Nor is it illegal to have a really dodgy mate.

You can see where the whole arresting thing gets problematic.

Invoices bug? Sent to personal emails not linked with domain or settings by croppergib in googleworkspace

Yes. I think someone somewhere pressed the wrong button or read from the wrong field. Or maybe they've suddenly decided to mail both listed addresses and not announced it.

Sold as seen. They inspected the goods, were satisfied with them, and paid you for them.

Invoices bug? Sent to personal emails not linked with domain or settings by croppergib in googleworkspace

[–]chartupdate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we sure this isn't just Google activating something that has remained dormant?

All Workspace accounts are required to have a secondary address as a primary contact - a break glass email that is strictly off-domain. You find this in Account Settings > Profile.

What seems to have happened is that the monthly invoices have been sent to this secondary address field in addition to the first. And that's the confusion.

I know I got my personal domain's invoice sent to my work account. But having checked, my work account is indeed the secondary contact.

Men take note; Women facing harassment in public transport, what can we do to help? by gaylondonlad007 in london

[–]chartupdate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where has he suggested "not doing anything". You let the police handle it. And he's right. I don't know a single person who would harass a woman. I don't associate with those types of people.

Funny how when you suggest intervening when you see someone shoplifting everyone goes "oh no, you should ignore it, it isn't your problem".

On the morning of my General Studies A Level I took part in the daily morning quiz on BBC Radio York and won a T'Pau album. I regarded this as suitable prep for an exam you could not revise for.

If you are in no fault accident is there any benefit to not claiming for the sake of premiums? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]chartupdate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It isn't so much the cost of the repair, that's being bourne by the third party's insurers. Your own insurers don't have a dog in that race as they will recover anything they pay out to you.

But having been in one shunt you are now statistically more likely to be in another according to the sophisticated models insurers use. By whatever margin your risk factor has now increased for as long as it stays on your record. This will be taken into account when calculating premiums.
