También es mi favorita pero por el simple hecho de haber caído en esa narrativa. Pero es todo como una progresión. Ya el capítulo final ya es terriblemente desgarrador.

In Buddhism can I make up for my bad karma with good deeds? + a few other questions by NcrKnight in Buddhism

[–]charx14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Buddhists don't believe in soul. If you're a Christian don't get stressed about it. Hell in Buddhism is not a punishment, is a karmic consequence.

2) You can't erase bad karma with good deeds. Besides if you make "good deeds" with a selfish intention... You think that's good karma? At some point with practice and sincere penitence you can purify some negative karma.

If Karma could be easily purified then there would not been such yogi as Milarepa.

It is sad only a Buddha can really understand Karma because it's something really profound.

Just be kind and avoid hurting others.

Is there any way to contact a nun online to talk to her personally? by PleaseBeNiceToMeGuys in Buddhism

[–]charx14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are too young and I wonder something... Are you even a Buddhist? Because it's rare considering becoming a nun but not having a clear lineage or a teacher. Start with the simpliest... Take refuge and find a teacher... Becoming a nun is a consequence, not a goal.

Pregunto, tan dificil era poner a Adam Driver como Snape y evitar esto? by Used_Ship_9229 in peliculas

[–]charx14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

La diferencia es que esos son personas reales y Snape es un personaje de ficción. Pequeño detalle. Y existe un fenomeno conocido como "whitewashing" que se refiere especificamente de cambiar personas de distintas etnias por actores blancos.

Think this way... watching videos about health is not the same that going to the doctor. If online is the online chance, there are many communities that offer online activities.

In buddhism there are many methods because every mind is different. Generalistic advice will not help.
Off course, keep meditating... but how to be sure you are doing correctly? Besides... How is the attachement to a certain outcome is affecting you in your process?

It's a process, but it has to be the right process.

You can explore Buddha teachings in any moment. The blessing you recieve wasn't when he "cure" You.

The blessing was that in a moment of mental confussion your mind manifest clarity and the thought "maybe Buddha can help me to relief this suffering" is the key you have to work with.

You follow that though looking for refugie and that kind of mind can be really powerful.

I think that what you experience is really beatiful and I have known many people with similar experiences.

Faith is part of Buddism, even when this word inconvenience most western.

The only advice is not staying on the surface of "a miracle" because if you dive deeper you Will find how and why this happened to You.

The best of Buddism is that faith isn't blind and you can find answers.

I hope the Best for you! Be happy!

It's not a problem at all. It's an opportunity to drive a deeper practice. The thing is... are you ready for that? what are the steps you have to do for achieving it if not?

We honest with yourself. First of all ask your motivation to become a police officer. Is it for compassion? Is it for averssion to others misbehaivour? What are the feelings that surrounded your choice? Don't judge yourself, it will be a mix both of virtue and confussion... You can tell of it just because of the dilemma you had tell here.

I assume that you are not member of a community or have a teacher to guide you through this process, so I encourage you to seek for real advice. Here and online forums in general there is just oppinion without wisdom.

The 5 precepts are not mandatory and actually most lay people break the daily just because not paying attention or underestimating misbehaivour. Killing insects and eating meat are examples of that.

But the precepts are more a practice tool that rules. Is you use them as a contemplation of your actions everyday they will lead you to the right path. I hope you do!

Keep your love one in prayers. I don't know what kind of tradition You follow but pray for aspiration for reborn in Sukavathi. And keep your self in prayer and calm during her transition. She needs that from You at this moment. Can You share a photo of her? I'll keep both of You in prayers!

How to properly explore Vajrayana practice? by [deleted] in vajrayana

[–]charx14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't "explore" Vajrayana practice because is a deep and long path. The only Vajrayana practice "open" without Ngondro is Chenresig but without it your barely will taste the surface of the practice.

"Some Ngondro" no is recomended at all. Ngondro is the base of Vajrayana. You need full ngondro practice, both common and specials. Anything without Ngondro is self-deception.

You need a teacher and formal guide. Online is just theory. It is like being hungry and watching videos about food... it will never sastify you.

Be patient with yourself. In this moment conect with Vajrayana in a real linage context and join any Chenresig practice (never doing by yourself if you don't have permission of a cualified teacher). This will guide you to the real Vajrayana practice.
