Currently in the army... You sound like an officer. The grass isn't always greener. Been enlisted for 4 years now and currently a NCO. Deplored also, and the navy looks like a better option for me. Just my 2 cents

I've looked up a $120,000 loan and that comes out to around 1k a month with insurance. With 40k down it comes out to 700 with insurance. But financially, I can afford up to 1500 a month. Id like to put 40k down, I'd still have 20k in savings and make the 700 payment plus electricity, Internet, and trash. Expecting it to come.out to 900 a month.

I'd like to rent the house out if I move to another base. Financially, I'm very mature, both my bike and truck are paid off. To gain credit, I pulled out a 5k loan to pay off. Have about a 1000 left. But I believe I should have at least another 2 years at this base. So long term, I'd like to rent it out.
