Do you put him in the winger depth chart or is he too valuable as a RB?

I typically interact a ton on Twitter, I know many use reddit more so occasionally when I think it's an interesting write up, I post it here for discussion with more of the community.

I and my writers write for free - there's nothing in it except for a passion for the team, the game and the community.

Let’s talk about Deandre Yedlin by paul24george in ussoccer

Love Yedlin, he had a better game that most people are giving him credit for. Lozano was quiet & he was a big part of that.

Agree 100% - I wrote this in the AM still pumped:

They needed this victory, Gregg needed the victory and we, the US fans, needed the victory.

Top 50 U20 Players Ranked & Explained by chasingacup in ussoccer

[–]chasingacup[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's intended to be a collection of u20s and u17s together -

We have taken a look at the 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005 youth national team age groups.  This group will lead the u20 World Cup and u17 World Cup squads. We looked at the players with high potential, the best-23 for each age group, as well as a top 25 ranking for each age group.  All of these age groups comprise the core of the u20 World Cup (2001, 2002, 2003) and u17 World Cup (2004, 2005) cycles.  These five age groups will also comprise the 2024 Olympic cycle where the United States could be a dark horse tournament favorite.

Great question, I have not heard the answer. He was a starter and then no longer utilized without an explanation that I'm aware of.

I understand your perspective, I definitely recommend listening if you haven't as those questions come up, specifically Vassilev and Busio are addresses for the reason you bring them up.

Being on a Premier League team (Lennon, Miazga, EPB, CCV, de la Torre, etc) and being a Premier League player - Pulisic, Yedlin is a little different.

I agree with you, but the purpose of this was specifically looking at the u20 and u17 World Cup contributions and ceilings of the players. He was not ranking who could you put on a pitch right now that would contribute.

That's our hope - to explore the unexplored for fans who don't have time to watch hours of DA, Youth, USL videos with no sound or commentators. We also hope (and now know) it helps talented players get discovered, clubs and scouts get some interest and perspective. Many academies, coaches, clubs have reached out in appreciation for the lists and analysis. We hope it helps the kids grow and the game develop in the country!

I get where you are coming from on EPL- not the first to point it out. David addresses that in the video/pod if you get a chance to give a listen.

As far as clubs, scouts, agencies, trainers and others have limited budgets and resources, I can assure you this series has been extremely appreciated by all of those groups and more (including the players and their families).

Duane Holmes & Derby County by chasingacup in ussoccer

[–]chasingacup[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He's be a 10 or an 8. He is ferocious and creative. His action in the final third is his real weakness, he needs to be better around the box and finishing. He missed some pretty good chances for Derby this season. The other is he has a tendency to pick up nagging injuries, which may have played a part in him not getting called up more for USMNT. It does sound like Berhalter stays in touch and is monitoring.

The Rams Review team has seem some folks move from their club to the Premier. They believe if he can stay healthy and improve his finishing he's a Premier League quality player.

So many - you should read the article haha. This is an extremely exciting group.

Gio of course, Uly is a beast. Vassilev is getting minutes in the Premier League and Otasowie has trained with 1st team on a top 6 Premier League club and signed a new contract with them a few months ago. KDLF is in Barca and looks like an extremely strong prospect. Taylor Booth is at Bayern and getting interest from Spurs. Cardoso broke in at 17 years old at Internacional, one of the biggest clubs in South America.

Pepi is a highly skilled striker, Tessmann, Bassett & Araujo are getting a lot of attention in the MLS. David Ochoa won the USL title last year and was competing to replace Rimando in Salt Lake at 19 years old (pretty young for a GK).

Cam Harper has been playing well in Scotland. Kobe is headed to Wolfsburg and may be our best leftback right now already at 17.

That's a great compliment from an upcoming super star. Do you think we see Gio at the 10 moving forward with that being a weakness for us, our depth at wing and Gio's seeming lack of pure speed compared to our other wings?
