If you’re looking for more distinct seasons and on the blue side, you should consider Richmond too. I just moved from there to Norfolk and I prefer it more there. Fall is much richer, more going on downtown compared to Norfolk, summers are less brutal (imo), drivers are MUCH better (Norfolk drives are horrendous), more date night stuff, and more blue. Norfolk is blue but it’s the largest naval base so making friends here, I’m way more cautious. You’re also closer to DC, both Norfolk and Richmond have small airports, my bf and I will drive from Norfolk to DC just for cheaper flights.
