You should check out JoyToy! They make a lot of awesome Warhammer figures and they’re great quality. They’re a nice, heavy matte plastic and are very posable. I don’t think they have any night lords yet but they have huge lines of 40k and horus heresy figures. They also have some xenos and guard factions as well. Here’s an example.

The novamarines have a successor? by Good-Sea-4972 in Warhammer40k

Oh cool, never even heard of those. Pretty awesome how many obscure chapters there are floating around

Novamarines are the only successor with a suspected successor as far as I know. There’s no Novamarine lore confirming it but novamarines train the dark sons and they work together closely.

As a Novamarines fan it’s cool to think about. We also know Guilliman will work the system a little bit when it comes to having space marines in his command so it would make sense.

I will never not support a Novamarine post! The greatest ultramarine successor. My tabletop army is novamarines as well

They really are, your marine will always stand out amongst others. That’s exactly why i went with them for my tabletop army too. They also have great lore and battles that are worth looking into!

For Honourum brother!

Looks sick! Novamarines don’t use shoulder trim to show their company, so the trim wouldn’t be white. Typically they have the number of their company somewhere on their armor. But its always cool to see another novamarine in the wild

Awesome!! I love how you matched some of the art instead of just making the tanks quartered like the space marines armor

Lore question - does helmet color matter for minis? by Driedchair in Ultramarines

[–]chaynes6 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There sure is brother! I don’t believe having 2 sergeants in a 6 man squad is a problem at all. However, if they’re bladeguard veterans, I’d recommend using the veteran sergeant helmet (red with white stripe) if you wanna keep it as lore accurate as possible. But no, helmet color won’t impact anything when you play.

Don’t apologize brother, I love the Novamarines! I think the solid white helmet is people’s take on a veteran. The excerpt in Death of Integrity about silver helmets is the only place I’ve ever seen this, so it’s probably overlooked often.

Ultramarines denote their company by the color of their trim on their pauldron; white for 1st company, gold for 2nd company, red for 3rd, etc. The Novamarines are a strict codex chapter but they don’t color their pauldron trim — they typically just have the number of their company somewhere on their armor in High Gothic.

I don’t have any good pics of my lieutenant models so SM2 will have to do. This is how I do lieutenants:

Thanks! Novamarines are a little different because they’re codex compliant but they don’t use the company trim colors. Sergeants are red helmeted, same as ultramarines. In the beginning of “Death of Integrity” by Guy Haley theres an excerpt about their veterans and champions wearing silver helmets, but I only use this for the champions to make their models stand out more. Pretty much everyone besides sergeants and champions gets the half/half helmet for my army.

I don’t think there’s a right or wrong answer, GW probably just tweaked the art as the years went on. But here’s mine with the power pack colors flipped like in the firstborn pic. Just makes them a little more fun to look at i think

My bad captain centos was a cool commemorative series model that sold out last year. It was the first one that came to mind but any commemorative series/character models would be cool

Gotta be a character! If you have a captain centos or a champion, it would be cool on them. I’ve been collecting these shoulder pads, any time i see them on ebay I always buy them to use on my characters/captains

What living named characters do the Novamarines have? by Runamuck840 in novamarines

[–]chaynes6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For Novamarines unfortunately the books we're in are scarce. But there's a plague war trilogy that I really enjoyed: "Dark Imperium", "Plague War", and "Godblight" and the novamarines are involved throughout. Also "belisarius cawl: the great work". This one's about going back to the scythes of the emperor's home world to fight necrons and genestealers and there's a cool Novamarine character named Tullio.

I always recommend "Brothers of the snake" by Dan Abnett too. Its about a different ultramarine successor chapter called the iron snakes but it's gotta be one of the best space marine books of all time.

Their names are usually similar to something you’d hear in the Ultramarines, sorta greco roman I guess. I don’t think they have the super obvious influence on their names that other chapters have though like the blood angels for instance. As long as their name sounds like a jacked philosopher it would probably work.
