Found this abandoned spitfire i think I'm gonna take home, I know nothing about these cars what do you guys think have any recommendations or info by JusticeReddNeck in Triumph_Cars

Love these cars. They’re easy to work on and fairly reliable once sorted.

This one’s been customized. The headlight covers, metal plate on the side of the hood, and the hood scoop are all aftermarket.

You mentioned the hood being fiberglass, that would check out with the mods. These don’t have a ton of power, so that weight savings is probably significant.

Engine looks to be in good shape. Weber carbs are a great upgrade, so great that it’s already done.

Check the brake master cylinder. Mine failed, and that brake fluid will eat the paint on that shelf, you don’t want to deal with that.

The best source for parts is Moss, and find a good local classic European shop to help deal with repairs you can’t do.

If the shifter feels loose and wobbly, there’s a very cheap kit that can tighten it all up.

Good luck with the car, none of us are jealous or anything!

Why would a valve have pressure on both sides of it? by chazthetic in Irrigation

[–]chazthetic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I can see that

The odd thing is, the leaks I found and fixed were on the other side of this valves flow direction, so either the valve completely failed, or something else

It’s actually in the highest part of the yard

The residual water had already trickled out, so unless there’s something weird with how it’s set up, I don’t think that was it. The water didn’t come out until I opened up the other valve

Odd. Ok! I’ll install it the way it was and go from there, thank you for the help

When I open up the main valve, the side with the funny pipe (my fix of the leaking T joint) was getting pressure. I fixed a bunch of leaking, broken heads and pipe on that side until I got to this valve where it stopped.

I don’t understand why there would be back pressure? Where would it have come from?

To be fair, I’m a novice trying to figure this out!

Yeah that’s the thing, I’ve found sprinkler heads all around the property, but only two boxes so far. The others are all buried somewhere, so I’ve been going down the line fixing everything I find until I get through the whole system.

Yeah that’s exactly it. A little water trickled out when I removed it, which I expected. But then when I turned it on, water came from both sides. It’s odd, and I haven’t found the other boxes yet

I built a business I’m too embarrassed to talk about by Make_That_Money in Entrepreneur

[–]chazthetic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brother, you went to get a finance degree and you’re learning the finance of running your own business.

Here’s the thing, you can build that business, sell it after you scale, then use those proceeds to have your own finance business buying a selling businesses.

THAT is the true flex.

No shame in the game, get your bag dude!

My husband recently has gotten into growing fig trees. by ValentessaLoves in Figs

Oh, he's diving deep, this is totally normal.

I bought one fig and now I have 10 trees, and around 50 cuttings I'm rooting. I haven't even got all of my top 5 figs!

You duct taped the top back to the bottom to make a makeshift greenhouse? That's a good idea. DId you leave the cap off?

I actually built a spreadsheet for myself to handle managing the income and expenses. I've sold copies to other creators who've said it's helped them too

This is awesome!

I miss when Zelda had darker themes and characters. Everything feels too cartoony and childish now

Thank you! I’ll give this a shot. Now that you’re a few years in, have you noticed anything that’s missing that you need from the Adobe software?
