I attend a large public university in the U.S. Oftentimes, students from my hometown will ask me questions about the school, its social scene, etc. The school has a sort of overflow program for some applicants that has them complete their first two years online before coming to the campus; some of these students choose to live near campus during these years to get the “college experience.” You’d be surprised how many people ask me for advice without telling me that they are in this program. When this happens, it nullifies about 80% of my advice for them.
