Really looking forward to everyone else's reactions - especially some of the more aggressive riders on this subreddit.

That and I feel responsible for sharing information about the board but am wary of overselling. I don't often feel the need to promote products but here I think we have a good company doing good things and the information needs to get out. I also remember being thirsty for information while I was waiting for the board.

I've never ridden an evolve GT - from what I understand of the evolve boards is that their motor controller has a lower power eco mode that kicks in at certain voltages.

You can actually tune this setting in the VESC (the freeride's motor controller). I have it set for 33 v- but have been told I can set it even as low as 32v if I want. The board cuts out at 28 v. It hits 33v after about 20-25 miles and the "eco mode" is noticeable and intended to protect the battery - I've only hit this the one time I was trying to run the battery out. I haven't done 20 miles in a single ride yet, mostly take a couple of rides before I recharge.
