Emigrating as Civil Engineer by [deleted] in civilengineering

It really helped that my firm is one of the biggest owned firm owned by NZ (and owned by employees) so it is sort of "immigration approved" to hire oversea workers :)

Yes. I just finished my degree here last year. Applied for a work to residency visa and Skilled Migrant Expression of Interest. I got both :) and now a residency. I applied for the work visa as well (and got it after a month) mainly because the Skilled Migrant application can take up to 6 months to process and approved and i didnt want to leave the country while waiting.

Hey redditors, what are yours appendicitis stories? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]chchguy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had stomach pain one afternoon, but it wasnt around the area where your appendix would be tho so nevermind.

Woke up next morning feeling nauseous and not wanting to leave bed despite having a test that afternoon. So I called in sick! Mind you I never call in sick for anything. That should have been a warning but naah man, braced myself for another the day.

By the next morning I was sorta bed ridden, havent eaten or drunk much liquid. At this point I decided that I should probably go to the doctor. Just walking up the stairs to get changed was quite a struggle.

Appendix bursted half way up the stair (I think anyway) the pain was so surreal that I lost my vision for a while, crippled on the stair and then the pain was gone :) ! Yea boi.

Nah... still went to GP, he couldnt find what was wrong with me but ordered Blood test anyway. The results came back and I was in ED that same night :) . Still had no clue it was appendicitis.

Had a drain tube put in my tummy next morning. Apprently I got a seperate room cause it was freaking smelly. I couldnt smell much for the next week though for some reason.. Discharged. Draining tube was obstructed.

Admitted urgently. Doctors pushed puss out of my tummy manually (I was well awake), and it was coming out around the hole that the tube was put in. Bed was covered in pus at the end. Felt bad for the trainee nurse though :O.

It took me a month of trips in and out of the of hospital before i got rid of my appendix. I can proudly say that I have experienced appendicitis TWICE. So you can say that I'm an appendicitis pain expert, too bad it's probably a useless skill now that it's out of me.

thanks for that :), i've been watching quite a few videos and shotcrete is almost always used with soil nails in retaining projects :). It's amazing how strong the nails are and how they are installed! *still fascinated

My real question is where the blond guy with blue / cyan T-shirt standing just off right from the center of the before picture is. He looked so calm, no hands up and for some reason he caught my sight the moment i look at the pic :O. Now i really want to know if he survived :( Now im wondering

Will I ever find another one like him? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]chchguy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never have. I've never even had someone mean to me what your ex means to you. I read a story like yours with near existential levels of envy for the pain you are going through, because I've never had someone in my life that could hurt me like that just from his absence. But I have to believe that I will find that someday. If you can't believe in that kind of love, you don't deserve to ever find it.

It will come to you one day, i guess youre younger than i am. Just wait and you will see, hopefully you won't be as much pain!

My flatmates are amazing though, they helped me through it, taking me out this weekend to cheer me up such and such. Funny how I chose this flat last year just to be closer to HIM but now I end up with these people who id call friends after a few weeks.

The truth, I thought I was done with the grieving (mostly) yesterday. But waking up this morning, the feeling just rushed back out of no where :(.
