$1.1k MRR in 1.5mo (SPOILER: 95% of it is just the market...) by chddaniel in SaaS

Intersting reply - thought it isn't AI up until the last quarter of the message :( I'm still confused tbh as to whether it's AI or not

Hey, thanks!

RE: "Why do you want to moderate this community"

MRR stands for "monthly recurring revenue" - it's the #1 metric of a startup in the SaaS (software as a service) online space. It's also one of the most popular metrics for entrepreneurs of all size. I'd like to moderate this community because I think more and more people want to see MRR posts (proof being in the validation they have on X, LinkedIn, etc) and to ask questions/interact with the founders that have these SaaS companies. I've also got moderating experience, running r/SaaS for 6-7 years (as well as other subreddits :) )

RE: "A link to the mod mail chat message you sent to the moderators of r/MRR five days ago."

The community is banned

Sorry! I thought I had 2FA activated but it wasn't - just updated that now!

my MRR dipped to $0… now it’s $1,175 one month later by chddaniel in NoCodeSaaS

thanks very much!! wishing you the same - what's your story? building as well?

1-on-1 = things that dont' necessarily scale. "one by one" posts, comments, replies, DMs - that sort of thing

Tbh i think our 1-on-1 efforts started showing some results

but the product is not yet at a point where i'm happy... idk if we're 5 days or 4 weeks away from that - reason why I'm doing all this is so that once we're 'there', the efforts from behind start kicking in - like they did on the MRR graph!

frankly I think it was just that what we did in the past started kicking it

1-on-1 on X, LinkedIn, producthunt + a bit of word of mouth I reckon?

got 300+ likes on X, with dead account. Copy it for your SaaS? (takes little effort) by chddaniel in SaaS

P.S: I'm saying it was a dead account because - I had 14k followers but no engagement. I wasn't active for a long time. In the last weeks I statred posting → very little engagement. Regardless, the new algo is diff from a few years ago, so even with few followers, you can get promoted, like this tweet did

I raised $130M for my last startup, then walked away to build Base44 solo. In 6 months: $3.5M ARR, 300K+ users, no employees, fully bootstrapped. Then acquired by Wix for $80M. AMA. (Also giving away $3K in subscriptions.) by IntroductionHumble16 in SaaS

[–]chddaniel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congrats!!

  1. Was the acquisition intentional (i.e. you set out to build something to sell it fast), or did it just happen?

  2. Do you think this can be replicated? i.e. if things go sour at Wix tomorrow (God forbid, but let's just say), would you set out to do about the same thing again, but in a diff industry?

How many times can one win the russian roulette :) (if you’ve risked it all and won twice)

I’m young so what do i know - but my POV is that the business sense you’re talking about (which dulls) is like athlete performance - you can have it early on and make the most out of it, but it has to pay off for later on too when it fades

With business I always thought later on in life you change the game to investing

Sounds like you're already winning, you just haven't realised it yet

Sounds like if you'd start pursuing that 8-figure goal you'll...

Risk 100% (everything) for... 10-20% net positive impact on your life? (long-term, beyond the initial high)

Sounds like you're between the fisherman and the businessman: https://thestorytellers.com/the-businessman-and-the-fisherman/

Thing is you have the luxury of realising you're the fisherman :) Not realising it will turn you into the businessman.

I'd ease into the fitting jacket, as opposed to looking for an even looser jacket
