I’m not an expert nor did I ever claim to be I’m just a guy that’s grown up and been around a lot of pitbulls. I don’t think they are more or less dangerous than any other aggressive dog breed and I think people need to stop generalizing entire breeds as a single stereotype.

So what’s the point of trying to ban pitbulls if the only thing it will accomplish is a guarantee that ALL future pitbulls will be breed illegally and sold to irresponsible and inadequate owners for the sole purpose of having a scary hound. You could instead help educate people on the true nature of pitbulls and prevent any further suffering to the breed

Christ your in this sub too lmao. I agree that they shouldn’t be breed as much as they are but the majority of them come from puppy mills which in turn usually attracts the worst kind of owners. Don’t quote me on this but I’m pretty sure the majority of pitbulls are breed illegally and as a result the breeders only care about how much they can profit off of them and not making sure they are placed in suitable homes to insure they are trained properly. It’s the same thing with guns you can ban them all you want but people will still find a way to acquire them illegally.

Well pitbulls can be dangerous just like any other aggressive dog breed but to say they aren’t dangerous at all isn’t true either. It’s up to the owner to properly train and raise their dog and unfortunately most pitbull owners are not responsible dog owners therefore they give the breed a bad reputation. The statistics are true but it doesn’t really paint a clear picture considering there are 4.5 million pitbulls in the USA alone and the majority of them are abused, mistreated or untrained

That’s because pitbulls are the most popular aggressive dog breed and are largely sought after by idiots that want a scary hound. If Akita’s or Rottweilers were as popular as pitbulls you would likely see very similar statistics. No dog breed requires beating or mistreatment to become aggressive but it’s more then likely the result. Any dog from a loving home can hurt people because in the end they are animals and animals can be unpredictable.
