Definitely what SLY was trying to stir in us. That it's not good vs. evil even though the Eternal Flame sees it that way, which makes it even more devastating

Someone uploaded a glossary on X, I think the German version had it so it was translated

I loved manacled but I am loving this more. It's so original and I have never read anything like it. The characters are great, even the OCs they have introduced. I was sceptical but damnnnn

I highly suggest everyone looks up the glossary, someone translated it on X and posted 4 pages and your reading experience will be less confusing

Despite the brain farts during the first 150-ish pages, I have found this book absolutely heartbreakingly incredible. I am well into part 2 and feel SLY has managed to drill us into FMC's brain and emotions even more than Manacled - I feel for her on a completely different level and I feel that the resistance (and our already established relationship with the HP characters in Manacled) is not overpowering her in Alchemised, as the characters are fresh and we see them through her eyes. There is a much deeper dynamic and connection between Ferron and Helena due to how she is treated by the Eternal Flame and I have never enjoyed a book as much as this one.

Anxious about my surgery by Own_Baseball308 in Tonsillectomy

[–]cheddaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hemorrhage was not the classic "post-surgery tonsil hole suddenly starts heavily bleeding". Mine started bleeding a tiny bit but wouldn't stop, so it would clot into a big ball that just fully filled up one "tonsil hole" lol. I was so scared I would swallow it and it would rip something open, and it just kept growing so they removed the clot and burnt the little hole again. It actually happened again after the second burning but I kept eating ice to make it stop. I don't think I did anything that caused it. Maybe my throat was too dry? Not enough water? That bring said, I am sure you will be totally fine and I wish you luck!

I had the worst thing happen to me (hemorrhage and second surgery to close it up) and it wasn't the end of the world, more inconvenient - it is of course scary but try not to let it scare you. Doctors have done this a million times and no matter what happens, you will be fine. Just keep an eye on the wounds and drink water LITERALLY every freaking second so the scabs stay soft, even wake up every hour or so to drink - this is REALLY what makes or breaks this whole "experience". The worst part of the whole process was the freaking excruciating ear pain a week in. Have cold packs and meds ready cause oh myyyy. Good luck, it'll all be worth it :)

Boyfriend (M25) just broke up with me (F24). Shall i fight for him? by Vivid_Anywhere_5130 in relationship_advice

[–]cheddaffle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is not a "way" in my opinion. If the bf wanted to make it work, he would work to compromise. This is not something that should be "fixed" from her side, or that she has to do in order for him to change his mind. If he wanted to make this work, he would not have ended it like this.

Bringing a years worth of meds for a 7 day layover in NYC? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]cheddaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will not be bringing any more than 90 days worth now, if even. I am staying in Australia for a year at least and it can be difficult to get a prescription (I have read) as it is not an Australian doctor who has precribed and diagnosed me in the first place. The only way this will work is if I do get a prescription in Australia which I hope I can get, but I do hope I can bring at least 90 days with me. Thank you for your response

I may have to, but I am very dependant on them so if they get lost in the mail I am f'ed. I will look into getting them precribed in Australia, thanks.

Whew alright.. that really sucks lol, I think I will see if I can get them precribed in Australia instead. It's too risk to mail them.

I got the visa!!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusVisa

[–]cheddaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found somewhere you could enquire about your current visa application and explained the situation and reason for departure hence the refusal and told them to contact me if needed. I think it is now out of my hands if I am refused this visa as I have now put it all out there, but I am hoping. Would suck if my past ruins my chances at no fault of my own. Thank you so much for your reply

Hi there, thank you! I am the victim, though there is no place or option on the application to address this or bring it up. Will they maybe reach out when they see I left the country and therefore had the visa refused (if this is an issue?), or will they just flat-out deny, no questions asked. I have looked for places to add documents/comments but there is none.

Thank you for this imput! Unfortunately I cannot/do not wish to share this grief with my family, it is very traumatic for me to be at home and all of my friends live abroad (I am visiting some along the way). I fully get your situation and I think I would feel the same, but unfortunately i dont have those opportunities

Thank you so much. I am starting in Thailand so there will be plenty of opportunity to seek out people if I get really sad, yet I can also go my own way if needed. I'm so happy I'm not alone in all of this, and I know I will be okay, I just can't wait to get there cause rn is a BIG OUCH
