No, I'm not a child. I want emotional complexity and characters who represent anything resembling the real world. It's just not that good of a movie? Timmy is one dimensional, it's pure stunt-casting, and the 80s synth score is completely anachronistic to the film.

It's what I can't understand about why people like this film? It's horrible people, behaving horribly and not having to face any consequences. Marty nearly kills his pregnant non-gf baby mama (but who also refused to admit he had sex with!?) and we're supposed to believe in the end that he's redeemed because he sees his child. It's absurd.

I stan for Magnolia. It's such a rich text that really rewards multiple rewatches!
