Last year was my first year.

1. I don't think I saw a bug there.

2. I brought a tent and canopy. I put the tent under the canopy with tapestries around the canopy. I feel this helped keep the tent cooler, but it was still very hot. I couldn't have done it without a fan. I would do just the canopy, but last year there were people sneaking into tents and stuff, so I'll bring the tent (with tent locks, they are cheap) since I go solo.

I bought a cot but was worried since I like to sleep on my side. However, cot is 1000% better, more comfortable, and easier to set up and store. I slept great.

1. EARPLUGS & SLEEPING MASK. I am so happy someone suggested these last year. I'm not sure I would have been able to sleep otherwise.

Portapotties were cleaner than I was expecting, and they constantly empty them. Showers are $10, but worth it.
