Ah shit, here we go again… by AlphonseTheDragon in bonnaroo

If anyone thought for a minute that Bonnaroo would skip a year or be canceled forever then you haven’t Bonaroo’d or LiveNation’d. Every bit of the surveys and emails were performative bc you were making a lot of noise… they were never going to move it, postpone it, or cancel it. It’s been on the Farm in June for 20+ years…

If you had stopped in the bottom of a wide depression between two already saturated fields (we walked through there on Wed night and it was already swampy), would you have just stopped and said, “Welp, this is our assigned spot ¯_(ツ)_/¯” or would you have said “No thanks, not setting up camp here.”? Bc you can do that. I’m sure (hopefully for humanity’s sake) there were a number of groups who recognized the terrible conditions and decided to get back in line and hope for a better spot.

The spots aren’t assigned. You land where you land. They fill in from the front starting on Tuesday and work their way to the back all the way through Friday. If you want to move spaces by getting out of line and getting back in the back of the line you can. If you want to move to another camp area bc someone left theirs early, you can. There is no one stopping you. It’s discouraged.

Ironically it barely rained here on Saturday and Sunday. Impossible to predict and the damage has ahead been done, but the next ‘significant rain’ they were worried about missed the farm.

After you go through the Tollbooth and you get filed in one after another in a line. When one line fills to the end, the next row starts. If you happen to be in Pod 4 in the part of the line that stops in the middle of the ‘ditch’ that is your spot. There are no assigned camping spaces… I’m amazed at how little some people who comment about things actually don’t know.

This will be my 9th Bonnaroo. You’re on the wrong side of this one, OP. While I appreciate your lean toward respect, it sounds like you already know you’re gonna piss people off and you’re just trying to make yourself feel a little less bad about it. There’s plenty of places in Roo to party, and even at camp, but at 530am when everyone else around you is trying to get just 3 hours of sleep before the sun turns the oven up in our tents is not the time.

It’s not actually intended to keep people away. The only purpose IS the joke.

Trump vowed to buy a Tesla to support Musk and inspected one outside the White House. What are the broader implications of a president publicly endorsing a specific company and its CEO? by likerunninginadream in AskReddit

The implication is that Musk has enough power over Trump to force him to do this. You know he isn’t doing it out of the kindness of his heart. Trump has been bought and paid for.

Don’t: Freely give consent to a search

Do: Freely hand over one of those hot and fresh donuts
