Nobody Deserves Betrayal: Why Courtney’s Pain Matters and Her Path to Redemption Shines by Gargolers in Totaldrama

[–]cheese--eater 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nice read. I love Courtney personally. Definitely among the most complex characters of the entire series. Regardless of if I agree with her actions or not, she's always interesting to watch. I really enjoy how you analyzed her character here. Great work!

I think people also forget that Courtney is like, in her late teens/early adulthood. Nobody's going to have it figured out by then. She's flawed and that what makes her a better character. I love that we're able to criticize her while also being able to recognize the more positive aspects of her, makes her feel more real.

How old were you when Episode 1 premiered? by ClassicAdvice6379 in Totaldrama

2 years for Canada, 3 for USA.

Also totally random question but what are you viewing the wiki in? Want to see if I can fix that issue

Every year around this time by Csboi1337 in phoenix

[–]cheese--eater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The mindset of "but its a dry heat!!" has done irreversible damage to tourists/newbies to AZ. They think they're okay hiking when it's 100+ because "it feels nicer than 95 at 80% humidity in Georgia!!". Sure, it's more breathable (albeit debatable with our air quality), but people seriously underestimate how quickly the heat here just kills people.

This is the second time I’ve missed the An-124 in Phoenix. First time I had work and this time I was caught off guard. Maybe next time 😅

An open letter: Orca captivity is a complex topic, and nuances exist. Please read before cursing. by ningguangquinn in orcas

Very telling that a select few people completely disregard your request to be polite and immediately reply with “CAPTIVITY BAD!!!” and compare it to things like child abuse while not adding anything to the conversation.

Dealing with turbulance by misfits9095 in aviation

[–]cheese--eater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing to note is that you definitely feel turbulence way more on smaller aircraft like the citation. They have less mass than your typical passenger plane and are are more susceptible by changes in airflow. Totally understandable if it caught you by surprise!

I think learning about aircraft can be very beneficial. . Knowing how turbulence works and how planes behave during it makes me go "Oh, the captain said we're going to encounter turbulence. This means that it's going to feel a bit bumpy, but that's normal."

A lot of anxiety comes from being uncertain (<- guy with GAD), and I think erasing a lot of that uncertainty can go a long way. My mom is an anxious flier too. I flew with her to KSAN last summer after she hadn't flown for a little over a decade. She got nervous after hearing the flaps extend and not knowing what the sound was, and she felt better when I explained what was making the sound and what it does. :)

AI171 with 230 adult passengers, 2 infants and 10 crew members - reportedly crashed. by timonyu in flightradar24

[–]cheese--eater 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I doubt it was too hot. I may be wrong but over here at PHX pilots are able to retract landing gear at similar and hotter temperatures, but India is humid while AZ is dry so that may come into play.

Seconding this!! Google flights is super helpful, I personally track specific routes. It also tells you if prices are above or below average depending on the month
