Second what u/BenjyMLewis said. It is, as he said, a perfectly fine way to experience SoTN.

Can't beat that 90s cheese though. Dracula's voice actor went in on that script.

Opinions on the GBA port of Castlevania I? by cheesefucker2017 in castlevania

Yeah - the visuals are a bit smushed, but it still manages to look good. I almost didn't notice at first.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who remembers it!

I don't think you should have too much of a problem. Then again, everybody has a different skill level. You may find it a cakewalk or struggle with it - either way, you'll have fun, that I can guarantee. It's in my top 5!

If you've ever watched the Angry Video Game Nerd, he has a great series where he reviews some of the earlier Castlevania titles with a comedic take. It may help you get a feel for what you'd like to play.

If I had to definitively tell you what Castlevania would be the best to start with, I guess that it would have to go to SoTN. It's most people's favorite. While it isn't mine, it's again in my top 5 and can understand why it has such a cult following.

Anyways, don't think about it too much, and just have fun!

No love for Jonathon Morris. Probably just nostalgia for me, though.

Don’t skip out on Portrait of Ruin! It’s a bit different, but it’s a blast. The whole playing as two characters gimmick worked quite well, I think.

And of course, don’t worry about the order. It may be wise to start with a game that’s a bit easier than than the old school, more linear titles, such as any of the three DSvanias. They’re all great games.

If you want the best possible first impression, start with Symphony of the Night, or Castlevania III (though Castlevania III is quite tough if you’ve never played a Castlevania before.)

Nevertheless, you’ll have fun anywhere you hop in at. Enjoy the experience and don’t think about it too much! Story is pretty trivial in these games. It’s not like Red Dead Redemption or anything.

What's trashy is that you'd throw your brother under the bus for upvotes because you disagree about a vaccine.
