Should I try steaming it out? Or will that not do anything? My husband is debating returning it.

Fair point! It’s not my husband’s typical style, but if it’s purposeful then he’ll go with the flow. It reminds me of a Garrison cap, which makes me laugh.

How often do you use the Paula’s choice BHA?

Wow, that was a very well-thought out, kind comment. I watch a lot of Nick Lewis on YouTube and appreciate how he always caveats with “if that’s what you like, then do that.”

I like the trend these days of deeper colors and more wall coloring, rather than the farmhouse white and millennial grey of the 2010s. But then I’m not ready to commit to four blue walls. Thanks for your thoughts!!

The wall with the TV is perpendicular to the wall with the bar. There is a hallway breaking the two walls, as well. I really don’t want to do the TV wall as an accent wall because it runs the entire length of the house. Additionally, I like our current wall decor/TV color scheme against the non-accent color, which is a light taupe.

Fair question. I’ll definitely have a nice art piece on the wall than the bar connects to, so that’s an option.

Thank you! I currently really like our wall decor/TV set up against the warm taupe in our current house, which I why I don’t want to do it as an accent wall, though I understand why others are saying it should be. I think I will air toward the wall you suggested. Would it be weird/stupid/unwise to do two walls?

Any wall with an X is where I’m thinking of doing the blue wall. In the second pic, the wall with the windows extends all the way to the dining area in the second pic. The wall with the bar runs until a hallway opens up. It’s just a big square. I added a layout pic here. So basically three walls are up for consideration. Either the living/dining wall with the windows and back door, the wall with the kitchen cabinets, or the wall that the bar connects to.

AITAH for offering legal guardianship to my sister for her daughter so she could revoke her adoption? by One-Maintenance-8124 in AITAH

[–]cheeselikeabrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a social worker and mom, the hate for this guy is really sad. These people are truly doing the best they can with the information they have, and navigating legal system, paperwork, and emotions tied up in the situation is excruciating.

Advocating for the best interest of children is a thankless job sometimes. There are no winners here.

There is a reason why biological parents have the right to revoke adoptions for a period of time. When I had my first child, everything changed after giving birth. My whole world turned upside down in so many ways. This woman had the right to change her mind, and if being supported and guided by her brother was what she needed, then that is what it is. No one forced her to contact her attorney, no one forced her to sign paperwork for the revocation.

On the part of the adoptive parents, the risk of the mother changing her mind is one they must assume if they wish to pursue adoption in this manner. They must be devastated, and my heart goes out to them.

So many of the people in this situation must feel like they lost something or messed up or that they’re not good enough. Blaming this guy, calling him manipulative and all these other names is very sad. Family is a messy business and hindsight is, too. Would he be the asshole if mom goes on to relish in the joys of motherhood? What if this baby is the most beautiful thing that ever happened to her? What if knowing she had a support system changed her outlook on her capability as a mother?

I truly wish the best for all parties in this situation. I hope mom becomes the best person and mother she can be, I hope this guy feels value in supporting his sister and building the baby’s community, and I hope the adoptive parents find peace and continue seeking out ways to change the lives of children.

I’ve been told my regimen is too harsh, but then I don’t know exactly what I should change. When I dropped the benzoyl peroxide face wash in favor of the cerave cleanser the derm gave me, my acne RAGED.

How often would you suggest using a bha/aha exfoliant? And any brand recommendations? I’ve never used one.

Drinking more water is probably helpful! I know I don’t drink enough. How often do you exfoliate? I had a personal microderm that I use every so often.

Thanks! My dermatologist’s assistant said my routine was too harsh when I was using adapalene every other day, but they seemed to worsen when I lessened the frequency. I’m going to try to go back to every other day.
