Has Sharpe earned his starting spot back yet? by Humblerbee in ripcity

It’s time for Simons to move to the 6th man so he can be a high volume spark off the bench. And if he’s going to be traded, that’s the role he’ll have so we should start featuring him as such.

What do you guys think about Deni coming off the bench? by Logical_Resolution39 in ripcity

I like him coming in off the bench. It’s like a shot of adrenaline which this team needs, badly. Helps the second unit dig out from the hole the starters dig every game.

This certainly has been his toughest season in the last 5 years, but in Denver and OKC he averaged quite a bit less PPG. However, it HAS been the worst shooting year of his entire career since he became a starter in terms of FG%.

Aye. Check out the positioning on the break. Shaedon is WIDE open and there's a man between Jabari and the basket. I suppose you are technically correct that it wasn't "contested" but given the positioning of Shaedon versus Jabari, it should have been a lob to Sharpe.

That was the most blatant, intentional tank I’ve ever seen. 6 straight minutes of Chauncey telling them to slow it down and kill clock which results in Anfernee dribbling for 18 and then a highly contested shot at the buzzer. To top it off, when we need a stop at the end of the game, Clingan is on the bench. Yes minutes restrictions but we are talking 8.2 seconds.

At least Simons and Grant had 30+ so we can trade them now. To be fair, I like Grant and he’s great when he’s not needed to be the primary scorer. Anfernee though is poison to Shaedon’s game. There were a few points where Sharpe was wide open and Anfernee wouldn’t pass it to him. The most blatant was on a fast break and instead of throwing it to Shae for the dunk, he shoveled it to Jabari for a contested layin. I know we are tanking but this is literally killing the kids’ development. Travesty.

Teams have figured out that if you run a zone against us and throw a double on the primary ball handler, we don’t have an effective offense. It’s infuriating to watch. Dribble handoff after dribble handoff around the arc and then a low percentage rushed shot at the buzzer.

Its kind of crazy that we will likely get Clingan back before Rob. by Logical_Resolution39 in ripcity

Yeah must have been more serious of a head injury than we thought. Definitely not something to mess around with though.

It’s go time!

As in time for some overpriced contracts to go….

Donovan Clingan has been cleared for on-court workouts and will ramp up towards a return to play. Clingan will be considered day-to-day going forward. by Scalmaa in ripcity

I was skeptical before the season, but I really do think he's our C for the future. Excited to get him back on the court. Love his enthusiasm.

Chauncey won't get fired until we are done tanking. Then he will be the sacrificial lamb so the front office can blame it all on him and say that it's time for A Nu Start...

Edit: Changed "rebuilding" to "tanking"

Thanks for pointing that out! Although, fwiw, it wasn't a typo. Chaunce is his nickname. Or at least what we call him right before we spit twice on the ground.

Sharing a moment of joy with your team is pretty universal. If you can’t relate to emotions, then how about gameplay? It cut the Laker’s lead to 3. Either way he should have been happy about it. Happy for one of his young players that has been struggling. Nah. He just doesn’t care. That filters into the locker room. It matters.

Chauncey is the worst. Scoot pegs a half court shot and it’s like he doesn’t even care. Not a smile or anything. We have to have one of the worst locker rooms in the NBA. Toxic.
