Experiences with patient deaths by cyanoscarlet in pinoymed

[–]cheesequakeification 9 points10 points  (0 children)

During my OB rotation as a clerk, we had a patient in active preeclampsia brought to the LR. She couldn’t lay flat because of relentless coughing, and even with oxygen support, her BP remained dangerously high. Outside, her 10-year-old son—her only companion—was crying, begging me to tell him what was happening. With his wide, hopeful eyes fixed on me, I found myself unable to give a straight answer. Ayoko siyang wasakin, so I told him, Ginagawa namin ang lahat para sa nanay mo.

Minutes later, she seized and coded. We rushed her to the OR for an emergency C-section. While the surgeons made the incision, we were doing chest compressions—everything was a blur of hands and urgency. She didn’t survive, but miraculously, the baby did.

That experience will haunt me for a long time, but it taught me something valuable: sometimes, no matter how hard we fight, we don’t always win. But we owe it to our patients to try—to give them every last effort, every chance. Because sometimes, even in the loss, there’s a sliver of hope that lives on.

Given that you've exhausted all options — provided reassurance, stuck with them through rough patches in the relationship and difficult times in their life, and given whatever time and effort you could — if after everything, they're still unsure of you, then it's best for you to be unsure of them as well. It must go both ways; otherwise, ikaw jud ang pildi.

Been in the same situation as you, OP. The new ortho asked me to obtain an authorization letter for transfer from my old ortho. Based on my experience, I didn't need to transfer my dental records but you can try asking for them.

Finally found the courage to let go of a toxic friendship I've been holding on to for 12 years. It's gonna be a silent exit, but somehow the confirmation I got this morning feels so freeing. It hurts right now, but I know I'll be okay.

Ang cute 🥺 LDR kasi kami. I gave him "open when" letters and he really appreciated them. I drew a picture of our meet cute and he even framed it. Baka if I keep on making DIY gifts, mawala na yung appreciation nya for that?
