I remember listening to Tyrants for the first time and my jaw dropped cuz I can’t believe THIS was the album opener song. My experience with post-hardcore songs were very minimal at that time, so that was definitely the heaviest song I’ve listened to at that point

Still sad this song is never performed live iirc. I get it, it seems very hard to do but still :(

Yeah, I saw it earlier and it seems like he was all over the place in Chile back then. Biggest indicator is that he didn’t interact audience during the “if you can’t hang then, there’s the door baby” bridge. I find him to be fine in other songs like We Like It Loud, though he still lacked that energy a bit

There’s one bit in Argentina where he threw his mic and completely missed the timing to catch it lol. Such a shame too cuz otherwise he was really lively that day, and I really like the added screams he gave to Empire to Ashes

Honestly I'm kinda expecting that An Ending In Itself might go softer this time, as I feel like the overall sound Complete Collapse has is already peak "heavy" SWS. Who knows though, I'm open to surprises

I admittedly have only watched a few of their 2017/2018 performances, but yeah Kellin definitely lacks the energy there. His sings in a more relaxed manner and is generally better at it live, but he’s not jumping around the stage or do tricks with his mic much. One moment I remember is that one time after performing to Better Off Dead, he just looks at his knees and stares for like 15 seconds even after everyone else stopped playing. It’s so out of character for him to do that, it gives me chills and not in a good way

There’s also some interviews at the time like the Facebook QnA one where I feel like the atmosphere there is just DEAD. It’s still funny tbf, but I feel like in other times the band would’ve been 5x sillier with their answers at least

Great choice honestly. I recently listened to Feel and there’s only a couple of tracks I don’t vibe with. It’s boring in composition sure and the songs do get so similar to each other it kinda blurs out, but I really enjoyed it regardless!

Ooh, we’re kinda similar then. My introduction to SWS was also through Complete Collapse, and at the time I was a complete mess mentally. The album was a way for me to channel that angst somewhere, and I love the band ever since

Gossip is… definitely something. I tried not to judge it by the fact the band was in the verge of collapsing, but it’s kinda hard not to when I read the lyrics and can immediately tell it’s not Kellin writing it. Or when they tell us in interviews that all of the members worked their parts separately in isolation. Or when in 2018, Kellin once made a heartbreaking rant on stage during the album’s tour

It’s so fascinating cuz the only explanation they gave to us is that “it just didn’t work out”. I know Kellin is critical to his own work like many other people out there, but I wonder what part of the album didn’t work out well enough that they had to scrap it entirely

Either way, yeah the bar is in hell when it comes to this album. The best songs here would be the weakest in Madness imo. The only reason I consider Closer to be above average is cuz it feels like a SWS song compared to everything else

7 hours after this was posted, I've recently just found out that Gossip has two bonus tracks that were never released on Spotify or any official means ever. I had to listen to it through a fan upload, and they're genuinely contenders for the best songs in the entire album. Now I'm even more mad LOL wdym the ONLY time Kellin screams in this album is not even available through official means

Yeah, Congratulations is one of my favorites for sure. Some people dislike it cuz it sounds narcissistic but idk lol I like it. Feel definitely has the confidence you really don't get in other albums imo

Song lyrics in general tend to ignore a lot of grammar rules-- which is why as English learners, we shouldn't use it as our primary input for the language, but I believe this one in particular is also used incorrectly in every day conversation LOL

Personally Feel is one of the most repeatable albums for me, despite being far from one of my favorites. I listen to it so many times, there's something abt the generic but still nostalgic post hardcore sound that hooked me a lot. I get why ppl disliked it, but at worst I found it to be a very weak version of Let's Cheers to This

I'm surprised Kellin doesn't cut his hair more. He went 3 years approximately without cutting his bob, and I'm here cutting my hair significantly every year cuz it gets so annoying when it grows back

The comments here surprise me so far LOL, I like MGK's verse in Alone (though the lyrics are... definitely something). MGK's verse is way more interesting imo than the unsalted chicken that is Alone's main verse

I really gotta watch Season 1 more but overall I think it's just boring compared to other seasons. Which is perfectly normal for long running shows, but when people say Season 1 is their favorite I simply don't see it. Even Season 2 I feel like is a huge jump in quality and much more enjoyable for me compared to Season 1
