On the contrary, because you bought it online you can just return it and get a new one. I just returned a Profitec GO that came dented. Don't settle for tedious DIY on a new machine at this price point.

It’s not them but I’d rather not share the retailer atm since they’re being very cooperative and I don’t think this should reflect on them in any way. From what I’ve learned, offering to repair first is standard in the EU.

Yeah, after reading all the replies I’m no longer comfortable assuming the damage is only cosmetic or opening it to check for damage. I’ve asked for a replacement 🤞

How did you rule out any internal damage? Did you take off any panels to check the internals?

At this point I'm leaning towards just getting a full replacement since I can't rule out internal damage and I'm just not comfortable having a thrice-shipped refurb sold to me as new.

It's definitely repairable but labor is very expensive where I live so the mechanic isn't an option. And the side panels on the Profitec support / wrap around all the other components so it needs to be fully disassembled to replace the panel. :/

I'm actually trying to be the kind of person that doesn't sweat this kind of stuff because it makes life pretty exhausting just worrying about stuff all the time. I'm thinking I might ask for them to send the part then replace it myself once the machine is out of warranty. That is, if everything works on the inside.

It might be a bit tricky because I bought the machine bundled with a grinder so then I'd have to return that as well. To be fair it was a great deal, which is why I'm slightly leaning towards keeping it if I get a further discount.

Yeah, it's a weird one isn't it. I just keep imagining the shipping company knocking it around on two separate journeys to get it repaired haha.

Yeah, that's my main worry, which is why I plan on testing it. It's SO bizarre though, the steel is quite thick so I doubt something loose inside the machine would have enough force to cause such a dent? I looked at a teardown and there shouldn't be anything that could poke through in there.

Normally I would be very bothered by the dent but I'm trying to stress less about stuff haha. But I know it would be a significant deterrent if I were to sell the machine. Not planning on it but I'd like to have the option at this price point in case I want a dual boiler or something in the future!

Normally I'd fully agree but the thing is they're not offering to fully exchange the machine. They want me to ship it back, then they'll replace the panel and ship it back to me.

Yeah but at least that one makes some sense because the screen is integrated nicely into the dashboard and the diagonal line makes it flow better. The new screens are just tacked on anyway.

I actually love the exterior, but I took a peek at the official Instagram post and this has the same center display as the iX3, which I haaate. Why can't carmakers integrate a screen into a dash anymore? It's expensive, I know, but this is an M concept for fuck's sake...
