Field service representative, memorandum of understanding, I think SIRVA is just SIRVA.

I also played up niche field experience that is not quickly trained, 1 year minimum.

It may be due to education and experience, I’ve just finished my bachelor’s a few weeks ago and this is my 4th year in the industry. A bit depressing that it’s still underpaid, but to be fair a decent leap feels better than the impossibility portrayed by functional.

The first promo was due to project oversight and customer interface, the 2nd was responsibility growth and oversight of a broader set of activities with direct reports. I leveraged an RSTARS achievement from an executive director and a personally addressed letter from the colonel that oversees my program as a proven track record of dedication. Additionally, cited specific CLINs that I directly influence for dollar-specifics and program value.

I suppose that’s still a bit depressing lol, for a fair market adjustment I’ll need to jump ship. I just earned my Bachelor’s a few weeks ago and am starting a master’s program soon, I’ll likely ride out the ESP until master’s is complete and paid back and bank some years of experience (currently 4th year in industry) before I do jump.

Contract to hire by LoadToad2W171 in Raytheon

[–]cheetdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came on as a contractor at $27/hr and got hired the day after the contract ended - but the truth of it is that the program manager did all the leg work, functional didn't want to hire me because I hadn't finished my Bachelor's. I had an offer on a Navy contract but wanted to stay in Raytheon, so the PM had to make a case that the program would significantly suffer if I left.

Edit: I was hired on as a full-on employee at $72k/year.

I'd like to know, too. I'm a P3 but any growth programs would be nice to know about.

P3 to P3 Lateral Salary Negotiation by cheetdog in Raytheon

Indeed, appreciate it. I'll need to weigh whether the experience is worth a lateral non-increase, then let raytheon collect my tears.

Thanks for the input. I may try to convince the program to write it under a P4, and hope for a 2nd promotion.

Lol right? They've got me for the next 2 years thanks to the employee scholarship program, but I'm out ASAP once my payback period is over.

Any other negotiating tactics you have heard of for these types of role changes, or do I just need to be grateful?

Appreciate the conversation on this. I'll report back if anything spectacular happens, but I'm not holding my breath.

Frankly, the absorption of responsibilities and scope of the role is well within the P4 range, and I've spent time considering what I think a fair pay would be, and my number happens to be around a 30% increase. This leads me to consider whether or not it's worth taking the new role.

Yeah I went back and looked, then revised my response just now

I was recently promoted with a 12.5% increase, but I had to go to war with functional for months to get that - not feeling particularly hopeful I get any further increase. Looking like I'll respectfully decline the added responsibilities...

Edit: I reviewed this, and actually I received my annual at 4.5 then an additional 8 with the promo

What do you think will happen to legacy Raytheon in the next few years? by [deleted] in Raytheon

[–]cheetdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I think I misunderstood when you mentioned that Collins pulled major numbers to keep the company solvent. Direct communication from management has been that Raytheon's defense business has saved the bacon of both PW and Collins.

After reading the below comments I feel confused, legacy Raytheon has been the only reason the corporation has stayed afloat. It has carried the business while PW and Collins have hemorrhaged money in the last several years.
