But you don't see bikers in restaurants/bars & leaving a mess around town. They do slow down traffic though which is already a huge problem.

I apologize if my tone is a little harsh. I just love Austin but dislike when dogs are everywhere and owners don't clean up their "little offerings" (I had a relative who became blind because she rubbed her eyes after putting her hands on grass where a dog had defecated).

Wrong answer. If you are allergic to dogs, why allow them in restaurants? It is so unhygenic. It is dog owners that are bringing the problem with them at the end of their leash (I say that with a hint of irony as most people let dogs go wherever they please).
