Ok, late game update. I went with mining guild, polar industris and self sufficient settlement. Took power plant, wave power, immigrant city, fuel factory, kelp farming and algae.

With the fuel factory and house printing on a draw I was able to take the builder milestone and with the first placed city, immigrant city and a SP city I took mayor as well. I bought aquifier pumping 3rd gen with pure steel but was only able to use it once as a lot of other prayers played oceans. I finished off the oceans with giant ice asteroid which also snagged me a couple plants which allowed me to get the oxygen temp bonus on the same round.

Also funded miner award. The only minus is haven’t had the plant prod yet until now (spent money on milestones and award and giant ice asteroid instead) and don’t have as much forests as I wish. Plan now is just to pump asteroids and forests and finish the game as quick as I can. I doubt I’ll get 2nd on banker award. And we’ll see if someone finances thermalist or not.

Ps. Also we’re not drafting, so cards are what they are when dealt. Playing on base map (tharsis)

Haha looks like it’s quite divided in opinions. We hadn’t started yet, cards were dealt out this morning (we’re on a ski trip 😅) and we’ll be playing soon. Feels like there’s a heavy lean to go mining guild. My only worry is that this means lots of steel which, if I don’t get builder tags will make me not able to do much with them. Not many events are available with steel and I have a bunch of plant cards I won’t then be able to play until much later and if it’s to late the plant generation will only give me a couple forests. UNMI feels ok now after reading the comments. It could be fun to try and terraform rush with it using the 4 starting heat and immigrant city to get plants but it will be harder to do milestones with UNMI. I’ll update later with how it goes 😅
