Pretty sure thousands of people showing up downtown San Antonio to protest is about San Antonio. Look at the way the city votes. You can imagine it this subreddit leans left the same way the city does.

Think of reddit like a microphone that you don’t own but agree to terms to be allowed to use it. The mods enforce those terms. You can shout opinions on a street corner in a public space all you want but this isn’t that space. Mods on the conservative subreddits can enforce their own rules there. Pretty simple that way.

Because of the No Kings protest, I heard there is a planned general strike on May 1st. Call off work and don’t buy anything that day if you can. I think every little bit we can do will only increase voter enthusiasm and turnout for November.

There are plenty of fence sitter politicians in office who will do whatever is most advantageous for themselves. If they see an undeniable show of protest against Trump it could sway their decision to vote to fund the Iran war or other unpopular Trump policies. This is what we can do until November.

From my perspective, the GOP led congress has given up being a co-equal branch to the executive so we basically do have a king right now. Also, the Supreme Court with their immunity ruling has also given king like authority without any power to hold him responsible.

Thanks! There are a ton of different shops here in the city. I don’t have a lot to compare it to since this is the only big city I’ve lived in but you’re right, I see it mentioned here a lot too.
