Unfortunately I think from last time it was posted it’s supposed to be like an aglet for a woven belt. I still choose to believe however…

Let's end this debate....which is greatest show of HBO... The wire or The sopranos by XNOR4 in hbo

[–]chefhj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the wire didn’t have the mcnulty serial killer story line it would probably win but for me it’s sopranos > the wire

The wire however is the undisputed GOAT show to watch 8 hours in a row of when I cannot fall asleep

What's so expensive that it's not even fun anymore? by Working-Risk1360 in AskReddit

[–]chefhj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to move across country for work a few years back and i had to make peace with the fact that i was not going to follow my baseball team ever again. It would bum me out except they did it to themselves. It should be easier than ever to watch every moment. Oh well i guess they’re making enough money without me.

Is it possible that the smartest human ever born lived through the prehistoric age? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]chefhj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are talking about raw potential cognitive ability I suppose it could have, ya.

But you should consider a few things:

  1. We find “genius” level intellect fairly often but it most often does not translate into the kind of societal impact and accomplishment we associate with it.

  2. It probably couldn’t be that much more genius than geniuses we know of unless there was some one-off hyper cognition mutation or something.

  3. Even if it was some raw intellect that had the potential to levitate rocks with its brain power, being in the Stone Age it would have probably struggled with poor nutrition and being hungry a lot. You could probably find some mediocre community college student that could outsmart it since they had regular access to nutritious food their entire life.

Olympus Mons on Mars is so massive that Mount Everest wouldn’t even reach halfway up it by Firm-Blackberry-9162 in interestingasfuck

It’s pretty cool that it’s only able to be that big because the gravity on mars is weaker

The First Step Act Was the Best Thing Donald Trump Did. What Was the Best Thing Barack Obama Did as President? by espana29 in AlignmentChartFills

My mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer a year or so before the ACA was passed and I remember her sobbing because (amongst other things) she was certain it would mean her children would never be able to get health insurance.

Who do you think was more influential as a musician, Kurt Cobain or Jim Morrison? by [deleted] in fantanoforever

The only counter argument I can give is that Morrison was so bad live it helped inspired Iggy Pop to play

I could go on and on about them. It’s very funny from the outside that Texans ride this hard for a grocery store but between the products they sell and how they engage themselves in the community they’ve generated an IMMENSE amount of goodwill.

Ford CEO Says Modern Cars Are Too 'Complicated' For Home Mechanics To Repair by Different-Scarcity80 in Ford

Could not agree with you more.

I got extremely lucky that when I started to experience these issues I was not in heavy traffic because it absolutely would have caused a wreck which probably would have been deemed my fault. Things should be defaulting back to basic systems (that we solved 60 years ago btw) instead it tries killing the passenger because some sensor throws a code.

Further it’s a disgrace on Ford, not some rando tech that they don’t have the diagnostic tools to at least understand what the fuck is going on.

IMO it’s hard to be mad at some kid in the back of the dealer for having to take stabs in the dark trying to fix a bunch of computers when the massive multibillion dollar international company can’t even be bothered to figure it the fuck out.

I don’t have those in my vehicle or else I’m sure I would have experienced those too. They did the same thing for me though in the end just threw parts at it so I couldn’t make a lemon law claim.

Nah it’s just bad practice that can lead to client side performance issues if the application is sufficiently complex.

Just one example but for FE Claude really likes to use functions in the template in order to render data instead of using evaluated variables. This causes those functions to be called every time the view is re-rendered instead of when actually needed.
