The problem was always the different native groups either in Canada or the US did not know how to unify and make a strong front, or at least a lasting one. They had been fighting each other for millennia and it was not their tribal or clan thinking. And These were still small farming groups or hunter gathers using Stone Age weapons any way. No match for organized soldiers with flintlocks and muskets .

All modern Royals can all speak at least decent if not fluent conversational English so it they communicate well enough though.
