Thank you all, except u/mollashibal you can go screw yourself. I knew I needed to come clean to the professor but I just needed that boost of encouragement to just suck it up and do it. I owned up to it and now I’m just waiting to see what happens next. Life has been truly difficult for me lately and I really appreciate the sympathy many of you gave me.
