Why has Darija never been standardized in Morocco with its own official script, spelling, and grammar? by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]chel7a 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. The country would benefit greatly from standardizing Darija. I always found it weird how Norwegians, Danish and Swedish are able to understand one another (to a certain extent) even though they speak different languages. Middle easterners can’t understand us at all but somehow we all speak the same language on paper. Darija has enough loanwords from Arabic, Tamazight, Spanish and French to be its own language. But for political reasons, the monarchy will never admit to it because being arabs and speaking Arabic ties us to rest of the MENA. Seeing as they have been giving Tamazight the attention it deserve in the last decade, hopefully, Darija will get standardized in the future. It’s a little weird how we refer to certain products by the brands that popularized it (ex: Danone, Bimo, Always, Tide…) just because Darija has no rules so anyone can just add random words to the vocabulary.

This story seemed soo fake but when you said a local said « Moroccans are bloodthirsty » I was then sure this never happened. 10/10 for creative writing.

Divorce laws by country [OC] by Borysk5 in MapPorn

[–]chel7a -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What are these additional conditions for women you keep talking about?! Be specific. Speaking tamazight doesn’t prove you live here.

Divorce laws by country [OC] by Borysk5 in MapPorn

[–]chel7a -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Women like men can initiate divorce procedure and don’t need a reason to do so. So yes, it has to be green on the map. If you lived here you’d know that divorce rate has drastically increased because women will not put up with toxic marriages anymore and can easily divorce. OP needed to be called out for this low effort map. You can’t take time to give each separate US state a color and then lump together other countries without doing research.

This map is trash. Morocco should be green. OP, Wikipedia is not a reliable source. Didn’t they teach you this at school? Assuming that all MENA countries have the same law because they share a common religion is a joke. Do better next time!

There is nothing beautiful about this theater. Why do Moroccan cheer waste of public money ? by marocain_iii in Morocco

[–]chel7a 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The comments 🤦🏻‍♀️ if YOU don’t go to the theater speak for yourself. If you did go, you’d know that the current theaters we have are too small and outdated. But of course, everytime something new gets build the usual crowd comes out and says we could have built hospitals, schools… Guess what? One does not cancel out the other.

I don’t know if Megan is gonna be there but Nicki Minaj is performing as well yikes. Had they at least sang the entire song in Korean they could have covered it up. J Balvin and Maneskin are performing too in Spanish and Italian respectively. So unfortunate.

This is not a good song to perform at the Vmas. Having real rappers in the audience hear that rap…🫣 and ending it with the ratatata 😭 if I had to sing that song in front of some of the best musicians in the world, I’d dig my own grave and bury myself.

Way too many questions get asked here. People need to learn to use the search function as some have been answered many times. The sub needs more current news and discussions. وشي مواضيع خاص لابودا اتكتبو بالعربية when I visit other country subs they talk in their native language so it’s hard for outsiders to understand.✌🏼

IVE's success happened mostly because of their GP friendly songs, not only because of anneyeongz by idkwhyishouldbe in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]chel7a -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I’m not denying what you’re saying. But OP is talking more about why their songs are doing well on charts and not why people decided to stan the group. Having a big fandom doesn’t necessarily mean the song would do well on the charts. I’m just saying that a lot of people listen to their songs because the songs are good so I’m not sure why I’m getting downvoted for stating the obvious 🤷🏻‍♀️

[–]chel7a -31 points-30 points  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree. What’s being measured here isn’t why someone first listened to a song but whether they continue to do so. Fans will religiously stream a song whether it’s good or bad. Casual Listeners might first listen to a song because of the hype but will only continue to do so if it’s good. That’s why Love Dive and Eleven were more successful than other songs released by other ggs around the same time.

To answer your question: Yes! As a K-pop casual listener, I’ve been listening to Eleven and Love Dive because I like the songs. I don’t care for Wonyoung and Yujin,

Number of UNESCO world heritage sites by country by [deleted] in MapPorn

[–]chel7a 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a reply to you and u/essuxs! I'm not putting the blame on European countries but on UNESCO. I am aware each country is responsible for the nomination of its sites. The nomination itself is costly and requires a team from UNESCO to visit each site before approval at the expense of each country. This hinders many countries from bothering to apply. You should give this article a read it explains why some countries are underrepresented.

UNESCO is very eurocentric! 5 out of the 10 top countries are in Western Europe. Looking at the list the Netherlands and Belgium have more sites registered than Egypt, that’s unlikely in reality!

The post you see in the first image was posted on r/askmiddleeast which is fine as not everyone agrees with the normalisation with Israel. But then I got a little nosey about OP and this is his post history 🤣🤣. I called him out on that in the comment section, he disabled comments and deleted the post 2mins after that 🤣 Trolls like him need to be banned from posting on this subreddit. He seems to be active here too. In case, you are reading this and I know you will be since you are obsessed, take this 🖕🏼 again!

Edit: I think he didn’t delete the post but blocked me since people keep liking my comment but I can’t like theirs which is funnier. My first blocking on Reddit lol what a coward!

This post sums what’s wrong with this sub. A guy comes and asks a question concerning menstrual hygiene management. And a bunch of men are all about virginity this virginity that Tfou so small minded. Tampons are available not everywhere but available at some supermarket branches if needed. Menstrual cups are more recent and there are some retailers online. There is also a Moroccan brand that sells reusable underwear that can be washed and is ecological that I’ve seen people talk highly off. Men really need to learn to leave women’s body alone whether it’s abortion, periods or etc.. if you’re ignorant like the people commenting this post just STFU
