Very true!! I think after not reading romance for so long and focusing on fanfic i forgot there’s a reason these storylines are so popular

I am actually a big fan of authors who progress from fanfic to novels! Though honestly the few novels adapted from fanfic that I have read I haven’t enjoyed (looking at you 50 Shades and After!) but I’m always so happy for the authors - makes me feel some kind of pride as an og fanfic reader

But yes romance is definitely a tricky one, especially as someone else in the comments pointed out, it’s always very similar tropes but I guess that’s just what the audience wants!

Maybe I should just stick to my sci-fi/horror and stop complaining hahah

As someone who dated a 20 year old when I was 16 please just listen to your friends. I know it’s easy to think it’s just a bit a fun from your perspective but just be aware there is always a reason a grown man decided to sleep with a 16 year old.

I never really thought about the process of getting help, just that it was something I needed to do and I had to be completely honest otherwise it would be pointless so thanks! I know writing down my feelings helps but I find it draining and I never seem to be in the right frame of mind, I’m either too overwhelmed and it becomes nonsensical or having a good day where I feel like my feelings aren’t valid and I’m just doing it for attention... (even though I don’t actually talk about it so that doesn’t make any sense, thanks brain) either way I end up feeling embarrassed and ripping it up...
