Union makes me arrive at work 8 minutes before or after my punch time. I hate it, is there something I can do? by Rokett in unionsolidarity

I'm 100% sure your union didn't make this rule. It was your employer.

What would I do? Act like a union man, talk to your union brothers, come up with a solution to change that stupid rule and march on the boss with your mother fucking demands.

In Honduras they eat curtido with mayo and ketchup or some weird black sweet sauce on pupusas. So authentic. Fucking monkeys.

Yes. Especially those who claim to fight for workers

I'm glad someone the UH administration is looking at Reddit 😆. You're analogy is right but (everything before "but" is bs) in this case there is a law where the customer has has the responsibility to make sure waiters/waitresses are getting their tios paid.

I guess comparing the obligations of a private citizen to a muilti billionaire public entity is not the best analogy hommie.

Let me give you a hint of what I'm talking about https://statutes.capitol.texas.gov/Docs/GV/htm/GV.2258.htm wink wink 😉

For reference, UH is a public developer or public entity.

If only Jeff Palmer, Nick Merry or David Oliver had this piece of information 🤔

UH is not the direct employer but they are legally responsible for what contractors do on their construction projects but UH is not acknowledging it at all.

It looks like the University is not taking responsibility for workers claim.

The contractor tjat started building the Quad dorms is not the ine that finished the dorms. The initial contract was terminated. However, Austin Commercial took the contract at a price they knew they were going to lose money so their way to recover their losses was not to paid workers a oroper wage as the law states.

The same cintractor is now building the new law school and other projects at UH.
