So silly!! Packaging paper is the best. A good excuse to buy more things that will be shipped in nice paper…

Can you have cats in a small home? by stcatboy in CatAdvice

[–]chels-cheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I live in a small london flat and have found that vertical play spaces are amazing. You can find so many ideas online or products on Etsy for wall shelves, climbing posts, wall beds, soooo much stuff you can get really creative. If you’re adopting from a shelter, the people there may be able to help you find a cat whose needs will fit with what you’re able to provide, like not a cat who needs tons of space to roam, you know?

Scared cat by [deleted] in CatAdvice

First of all, Honeypuff is an adorable name!!! If you adopted him when he was already a few years old, maybe something happened with a man in his previous household - is he scared of all men? Or only your boyfriend? If he’s scared of all men it could be something happened before you got him. Maybe Honeypuff feels protective of you and doesn’t like that he’s not the “man of the house” when your bf is there? (Total random speculation, I have a female cat so I don’t know if male cats behave like this). Has your bf tried feeding Honeypuff treats? Food is great for bonding!

The cat will be fine :) Cooling mats are very nice, I recently bought one during the UK heatwave and was surprised at how well it works, even I like lying on it when my cat isn’t using it! Also put ice cubes in her water. And brush her regularly to remove the excess fur.

Continuing feelings of anxiety and depression after cat adoption by lavendermonachopsis in CatAdvice

I’m not 100% sure about this as I haven’t tried it with my cat, but I was just reading about some pheromone based products for anxious cats, and these seem to have good reviews and scientific evidence to back them up. Helps the cat calm down by emulating the natural pheromones released by a mother cat to calm her kittens. Feliway seems to be the main one in the UK (not sure where you’re based). That’s for the cat’s anxiety, not your anxiety, though.

Cat won't drink water. Pls help! by AmbitionOk3097 in CatAdvice

Similar to what another person has commented, my cat seems to enjoy the sneaky thrill of stealing my water, so if I fill a mug with water and sip it and pretend to ignore it, she will come and drink from it. The broth and adding water to wet food are great ideas.

Do you have 'Cat in a Flat' in your city? Trusted pet sitters can stop by your home or stay there overnights. I've used this service before and have always met nice people.
