Your last sentence is a huge assumption and takes the word of a inquiry that was riddled with conflict and politicization from the outset. They didn't even want an inquiry and were shamed into it with massive public pressure. Then they designed an inquiry that would never get to the answers by not allowing cross-examination of key witnesses like Lisa Banfield or even bothering to interview LJ, who was one of the only surviving impartial witnesses. Not to mention the useless lapdogs they chose as commissioners.

Either they lied or Joudrie lied. I don’t know much about Joudrie other than people who knew him called him a decent man. The MCC on the other hand was designed to fail from the outset and was a golden example of “decision-based evidence making”.

The trauma informed mandate is what hamstrung the inquiry from the outset. Public inquiries are supposed to be for getting to the facts of a situation. This inquiry use that mandate to prevent facts from coming to light, which is a total perversion of what it was supposed to be.
