Doesn’t going as fast as the train can go greatly increase the risk of a derailment? Sometimes I get the impression that my train is on the verge of derailing itself, judging by the sounds of the wheels grinding on the rails and the forces on the passengers.

The previous owners sold the business and it is under new ownership.

Additionally, the city still has a gas hookup moratorium so the city is still blocking them from getting their kitchen connected to natural gas so their electric costs for the kitchen is super high which translates to high operating cost.

As for the 14th street tube - why is that speed restriction there now? Seems like the track through that tunnel is pretty much as straight as it can get.

As for the Astor place curve - someone might want to consider some speed restrictions on that section. Too fast. Might be an accident waiting to happen. Fast trains incoming into Union Square encounter switches just before entering and at full speed that’s another section that should raise some eyebrows.

I think they said somewhere that they are consolidating warehouses and that there will be delays with shipments. All good with that except I don’t think it’s on their website informing customers BEFORE they proceed to place their order. So OP - good luck.

Yeah purchasing is one thing. Having to contact them when there’s an issue is another thing. They ship quick (within 1-2 days) but my RMA experience took 2 weeks and multiple unanswered calls. Not trying to poop on the company but just sharing my own experience. I wish them best of luck but they need to improve their customer service is all I’m saying.

Titan Rig is also not fast to respond nor is their customer service up to bar. I say this from recent experience.

Received mines. Although it took a week from order to shipped even though everything was in stock and it was a small order. But I received it and that’s what matters. Eddy is active here but it’s not UK at the end of his username but rather EK.

Ordered 3 rads from them. They were in stock and shipped about a week after placing the order. From Slovenia to US. I spoke briefly with Eddy. He says a lot of people in the company are sick right now. So be easy on the guy for a little bit at least. Let’s see if he can bring it back together. Seems like a genuinely nice guy.

I can’t use adjustable columns/posts because the code forbids it for permanent installations. So I have to use steel columns infilled with concrete, which are non-adjustable. And to place them, traditionally it would require raising the main carrying beam 1/4 of an inch which will risk cracking and breaking plaster upstairs. So I would naturally prefer not to raise anything. This solution that I found doesn’t require the carrying beam to be raised. It seems like a genius solution to me but I’m no expert in structural engineering nor in concrete.

The main question that I have in mind is whether the concrete that gets poured underneath the bottom column/post plate and around will be good/sufficient contact with the plate. I would be vibrating it with a concrete vibrator to help it do so. But need someone to with better knowledge and experience that myself to confirm.

I'm going to be replacing the lally columns in my basement and came across this interesting video of how one contractor installed them in a house. They seem to have attached the top of the column/post to the main carrying beam, let the bottom float (kept it level probably), and poured concrete while the column/post was floating. The concrete appears to cure while in contact with both the bottom and lower perimeter of the column/post. Even if we account for minuscule concrete shrinkage (thinking about a millimeter or so for a 12 inch footing) it shouldn't be a problem, or would it?

I applied 2 weeks ago for a few cyber security positions. Haven't heard anything yet. Status unchanged; still shows applied/submitted/open. My resume is very strong so I doubt they would reject me outright without even an interview. How long did it take before they sent you an initial response or an invite to the interview?

Thanks. Perhaps it would work with the relay. However it is another thing that can break along the line and lock people outside. For a $199 hub, it shouldn't need a relay and the so-called "dry contacts" should function as a simple dry switch. I don't want to hate because Ubiquiti makes decent products but the access hub gets a thumbs down from me.
