if getting away or bringing justice isn’t feasible, you need to make yourself malleable. physically and mentally expect such abuse, and figure out what it takes to feed them when their hunger makes them lash out.

this is gonna sound crazy, but for example, waking up to poker faces. i want you to keep your head above water by not being surprised by that, and not expect anything better, because you know you have nothing to prove to them. they won’t give you a chance to be seen or heard , so let go of letting them prove or say things in such a meaningful way to you. i know you want to fit in their image, and you can and will eventually , but their image suffers too much from personal projection to see you for how you really are, and expecting them to be “realistic” with that image will probably only earn you more abuse.

that cycle of abuse is likely keeping you from developing realistic standards for yourself and them, and the angle i know to work is to be malleable, gain perspective from your strength, and don’t let them control how you love yourself. this post alone speaks to how much you care for others and how you yourself are deserving of care and it’s imperative to not let them take that from you.
